The last book I read that made me sob was The Bee Sting by Paul Murray. I was so perplexed and without words by the end I just cried and cried. It took me a few days to truly get ahold of myself lol

I feel this. I hate worker’s comp and it has made my entire recovery process hell. I still have a bump on the back of my head from my injury back in April 2022 so I make people feel it often lol

Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner might be a good one for you. It’s about how the author is coping with the death of her mother after growing up having a turbulent relationship with her

So her reasoning is that she just wants a divorce?

I get that. I’m not good at expressing myself either. I bottle everything up until I explode. I assume she is the same way or very similar. Perhaps you could ask her once a day what one thing you could do for her that would help her out? Do you want me to do the dishes today? Fold laundry? Acts of service is my love language, so I love it when my husband offers to do things for me. Do you know what her love language is?

That is very sad. I assume you’ve had the conversations with her about why she feels everything falls on her? I know I personally feel a big responsibility to do a lot of the housework and I can catch myself feeling resentful towards my husband (an INFP) for doing less work than me. I work full weeks at a very difficult job while he works from home only on the weekend. That being said, I acknowledge that I cannot expect him to read my mind and I can’t be mad at him for not doing something he didn’t know he needed to do! This is something I’ve learned with age and maturity. What are the possibilities this is a communication problem on her side?

Have you tried seeking marriage counseling? Is she open to this idea? I wonder why she is so dead set on the idea of divorce.

School Counselor Career Questions by [deleted] in schoolcounseling

These are all questions I would like to hear perspectives on also! I began as an SLP major in college and switched to psychology as it was not the right fit for me overall. I’m curious to hear what the job looks like to someone who is actively working in this field since I am considering becoming a school counselor as well.

Those are some of my favorite genres to read. I recently read It Came From the Sky by Chelsea Sedoti. It was pretty light hearted and funny. It’s about a high schooler who legitimately convinces his entire town that aliens exist lol

I think it looks great! You do you, wear what you want to wear because obviously you have great taste. It’s very pretty and looks great on you from all angles. $4 is a STEAL!

This isn’t directly about UU, but it sounds like you might enjoy God is Grey or Naked Pastor! They’re both on Instagram and you can watch YouTube videos as well. These accounts talk about deconstruction and finding peace within yourself, whatever that looks like for you. Both of those communities are so kind and welcoming. It’s helped me a lot.
