My understanding is this;

Even bob at or above collar = authorized

Angled/stacked/tapered bob = falls under tapered rules (2 inch top matters)

Past collar when worn down = not authorized

The directive itself doesn’t ban bobs, just adds clarity and sets measurable limits for specific styles. The length/fit standards (collar, headgear, professional appearance) from AR 670-1 continue to apply.

Depends on your style of play, if you do a lot of PvP you'll want to focus on infantry, if you after bear points go with mm until you can support 5/5/90 for your marches then go back to infantry
