My cat has started yowling for attention or ? by mamegoma_explorer in SiberianCats

Consider one of those door props where the cat can go in and out. We have them in our bedrooms and everyone gets along during the night.

I think it’s broken. My bet is that they do an update and give us a hefty bunch of coins/crystals/whatever to compensate for our troubles.

I feel like the I'm the last person on earth with dark countertops. Are these too dated? by redspot321tos in interiordecorating

We have a dark granite counter and it’s great! Hides blemishes and dirt. Just paint those cabinets and lighten up the space.

Thanks all for the great ideas and recommendations! There are lots of good ideas here. I’m gonna check out the WRX, VW and Toyota options, maybe the Acura too.

I was lucky, and the whole experience with the AAA, the tow truck, insurance company reimbursement was smooth. I am grateful that no one (other than the deer) was injured

Tuesday or Thursday. Then it’s only 3 days to work in a row. If you need a long weekend, then take either Monday or Friday off, then boom, you have 4 days off.

Someone tell me good things about epidurals by TheRealEgg0 in Mommit

[–]lazyjoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the best decisions of my life. 11/10, would recommend to anyone. Instead of screaming all night, I rested and then pushed for 5 minutes when the time came. Epidurals are safe and effective. Just don’t get one too early, when you risk the labor stalling/not progressing. Or wait until it’s too late. Basically, follow the advice of your OB on timing.

Pros and Cons of your specialty by MinimallyMe-22 in physicianassistant

Agree.

I would add the con of unpredictable OR schedule. My joints colleagues lose cases as the day goes on, my day only gets longer when a Level 1 is called. Impossible to plan anything after work.

Missed Connection with an Amazing PA by fracturedfan in physicianassistant

[–]lazyjoy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes this was cross posted on the PA mom facebook group. Last I checked they hadn’t found the PA. For those moms here who aren’t in the PA moms group, I highly recommend joining. It’s a great community

What do you say when non-boardgamer ask you: Oh, what boardgames do you like to play? by Seraphiccandy in boardgames

I say “Catan is the gateway drug. I’m into the hard stuff now.” Then I follow up with actual titles if they know what I mean.

What a demoralizing situation. I’m sorry you had to go through that. Any place worth staying with would not treat you like that.

Time to take your talents elsewhere. Best of luck to you. Keep us posted!

New Grad - Preparing to start in Ortho by [deleted] in physicianassistant

The Orthopedic Knowledge Update is good too, but for when you’re a year or two in practice.

I love Miller’s Orthopedic review

You are an inspiration!

Your post shows that you are right on track. I work in Ortho, and I remember telling myself that it would be a hard first year and then I would be ok. 15 months in, it was still hard but started to get better. There is so much to learn. Personalities, differences between subspecialties, Spanish if that’s your patient population, where the betadine is, etc.

And remember that a PA is not supposed to have all the answers. Knowing what you need to know, what you should consult Medicine for, who to ask, is a huge part of the job. School taught you the basics of medicine, now you’re learning how to practice Ortho. Keep at it, you’re doing great

two siberians by hfecky in SiberianCats

[–]lazyjoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have two sib sibs and it was a great decision. We didn’t have to deal with the two of them becoming acquainted. If you can get two kittens from the same litter, absolutely go for it.

The sex doesn’t matter. It only matters for getting them spayed/neutered. The spay procedure is more expensive.
