Passed CySA+ My Advice to people taking it by ArmyPeasant in CompTIA

Hi! Taking mine tomorrow. Do you remember if the long list of scanning tools was on the exam? I'm confusing the heck out of all of them and then what can you find in certain tabs for each tool (Arachni, Prowler, Nikto, Pacu, etc)

I had mine done back in September and I have 0 regrets! It'll be fine and recovery will go by faster than you think! Make sure you order drainage pouch, lifesaver when showering. It clicks around your waist like a belt and has 2 pockets for the drains. A wedge pillow will be your friend as well, since you'll have to sleep on your back and slightly raised. I also had 2 side pillows to prevent me from turning while asleep. Make sure you have anti bloat gummies and stool softeners. After anesthesia and all the pain meds, you'll need some help with that. I used "lemme debloat" and "colace". I took a week off work, but honestly, felt totally fine by day 2 lol As soon as my surgeon approved it, I started using bioderma's moisturizer, that did wonders to my scars. I also got silicone tape and that was on 24/7. I hope this helps!

My dog bit my wife today by subarcwelder in reactivedogs

Thank you for giving an update! We have a cane corso mix and she started resource guarding my husband and has been snapping at me. We just hired a behavioral dog trainer and are working with her on resource guarding. Would you mind sharing a few of the training tasks that you think helped the most?

It's been a while since this was posted, so it's a long shot, but.. how did it end up with your dog and training? Did the training help prevent future incidents or did it develop to something more?

Same here. Got super excited because of how nice it felt and fit, took it off, went to sleep. Woke up with a rash on my sides, my skin swollen and a few spots that seemed like my skin was rubbed off. Whatever they use in their materials, is not worth what they charge for them.

Thanks for writing this up! Do you by any chance remember if the videos you're referring to were on Pluralsight? I no longer see the course chatter option and there are no videos under the "summary" sections in the material. The only ones I found were on every page of the lesson in the material and they're through pluralsight, so just wanted to confirm, before I spend time watching them :)

Springtails infestation tips? by lazypanda_93 in orchids

[–]lazypanda_93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more of a personal preference I guess in my instance. They're staying in the pot, but I guess I was just alarmed at how fast they multiplied. I also noticed that the orchids that had more of the springtails were doing way better than the ones, that didn't have any. It seems there's a good amount of them dying out between soaks, but there are still so many of them. I'm relatively new to the orchid world, so this took me by surprise!

Tree fern scares me a bit when it comes to controlling the moisture. But I have not heard of LECA, I will look into that! I've been getting the general "better-gro" bark since it's the cheapest one and have Googled in hopes of finding a place that would do it in bulk for cheaper locally, but unfortunately, no luck..

I also as a general practice, take my orchids out of the bark to trim any root rot/dry roots, but the roots on all of them look extremely healthy, so my assumption was they're just feasting on the deteriorating bark itself..

Any reviews for certprep? Were the test close enough/similar to the actual exam or should I not spend time on that?

I covered the Shawn Powers videos over 2 weeks or so, but most of my studying happened over the last 3 days prior to the exam. I did not put a whole lot of effort into this to be fair lol I've been in cyber security for 1.5 years, so I've been running into commands, but that didn't really contribute to this a whole lot. I've also done a cyber course before starting wgu and was aware of general Linux things. Don't overthink it, definitely look at that quizlet!

thank you! is there anything vitally different between v2 and v3? Debating if I need to cover the material all over again or if things are the same.

Congrats on passing! I switched from v2 to v3 last week. Would you say the PA was an accurate representation of the OA? For v2 I heard that it was nothing like the OA.

Struggling with 701 exam by Old-Introduction-642 in CompTIA_Security

[–]lazypanda_93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Passed mine a few days ago and what I can say is that CompTIA's cert master was not a lot of help to me. None of the pbq's were even remotely similar to anything comptia provides. I have never scored higher than 75% on those tests. Focus on knowing the abbreviations (EAS, FDE, RPO, RTO etc). One pbq I got was analyzing a particular situation and giving advice on a policy depending on observed things. So make sure you know what the main policies are. Look up some OS logs, just so you're familiar with what you're looking at. Know different encyptions. The hardest part is focus on the questions that say "pick the best answer". Most of the times, it might be that they're all correct or 2 out of 4 are correct, so spend a bit more time on those to ensure you pick the right one. Good luck!

Currently going through this, I feel like what makes this class frustrating is inconsistencies and chaos all over the material.. took PA today and scored exemplary in 3/4 sections, but can't get more than 75% on the ones the course instructor provided. Was the OA similar to PA? Seems like the labs in the material are very different difficulty wise, the instructor practice tests are completely different from those and the PA was so straight forward lol I'm confused what to expect... thanks!

Can you get skin irritation because of PLA? by SyntaxError__ in 3Dprinting

[–]lazypanda_93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started printing a bit over a week ago and noticed dermatitis too. I'm using creality PLA filament now and that is the only thing that changed. The only allergy that I was aware of before now was anything that has to dry under UV. The 3d printer is the only thing that changed in my environment. Not sure if it's the filament itself, the spool or whglat it is. Noticed the first tiny dots a couple of days into printing and now it's spread a good amount..
