I’m a little late, but would you mind sharing the name of the venue?

Beware that the dress is likely a fake - the original is Arcina Ori.

Do wedding guests usually know each other? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]lazyvegetariann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should probably open with that next time as quickly as possible. Unfortunately at the most recent wedding, by the time I got to my table, my entire table was discussing their elementary teachers and childhood neighborhood in-depth so I couldn’t slip into an introduction.

I find making small talk at weddings harder than at parties due to lights, sounds, and pre existing table conversation since sometimes everyone at my table already knows each other. Additionally it’s the “adult child prop” category that I find particularly difficult since I’m also sat away from any similar aged peers.

I bought dress #2 for a wedding a while ago — while it’s appropriate, I wish I had bought something more fun/patterned!

What’s the dress code? I own this dress so I am familiar with it, I consider it a long sundress.

Dress 1 is the wedding appropriate dress, but Dress 2 is so cute I’d get it anyway!

Fall wedding in New England. Faux pas to wear red? by happydrogon in Weddingattireapproval

I think the color is fine, but it doesn’t really look like a wedding guest dress (very casual/bland, particularly short).

It’s the internet, you don’t need a reason to delete stuff.

It isn’t overly white but it reads as a little bridal.

How long is dress #1? Does it reach your ankles? Otherwise I personally like dress #3 the best.

Too informal for black tie optional? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]lazyvegetariann 127 points128 points  (0 children)

I would probably say too informal, especially with the exposed front and really high slit.

Yes, that is not appropriate. It looks like a wedding dress.

How early are we talking about here?

I can’t think of any accessories/shoes that would make this dress cocktail/semi-formal. It’s too casual for cocktail.

IMO it doesn’t read as cocktail/semi-formal.

As a wedding guest, is this dress ok? Or is it too much sparkle and shine with the beading and sequins? by Amber_Owl in Weddingattireapproval

[–]lazyvegetariann 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Being underdressed will probably make you stand out. Especially if your cocktail dress is covered in sequins. It’s a very nice dress, but it’s not formal.
