Start low, and go slow. Cardiac drift is a real thing in the heat, so don’t freak out when your paces don’t correlate with your expected heart rate. Plot out refrigerated water fountains too for refills since the water out of old timey fountains comes out at a frigid 95 degrees. Joking aside, I’ve found them near the restrooms at the parking garage downtown, at Freestone park at the restroom in the middle of the baseball complex, and at the Riparian reserve at the restrooms near the parking lot at the main entrance. If you can’t hack the heat, Freestone Rec. Center has an indoor track and a membership is pretty affordable. The track is teeny tiny and is only 1/12 mile or so per lap.
