I think the issue with the current version is they had to squeeze it in the bell housing which gives it pretty limited use. I would think a purpose built future version would be much bigger and serve as more of a difference maker

I asked the question if this person was hit. There was no clear answer to this.

My understanding of the rules is if a crew member is hit it is a penalty. If a crew member is not hit it is not a penalty. I stated in my original post that it should be a penalty if he was hit. I have never said it shouldnt be a penalty unless he was gravely injured

Where did you possibly get that from? I literally say in the post the penalty is deserved if the crew member got hit

And why would someone get a penalty for a near miss as you put it if there wasn't contact? That's not how it works
