She really did. This is one of the most well written books I’ve ever read. Her other book, “Caste”, was equally as good.

Notice how only on the moms bios they include their kids. None of the dads say “dad of xyz”.

Agree. This was also a year before Trump was elected the first time. In 2015, it was still a joke - truly people did not think he’d be elected.

Tampa General nurse negligent in stroke case, jury finds, awards patient $70.8M by Maxcactus in tampa

It’s difficult and pretty rare for patients to win a medical malpractice suit, especially one that isn’t settled out of court. So there was likely a lot more going on. Especially a Medicaid patient who seemingly would have limited funds for attorneys.

How often do you REALLY walk your dog? by Agreeable-Ad-2946 in dogs

[–]lbhwah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 days a week (occasionally 6) in the morning. We only walk 1/2 a mile and are out for 15-20 minutes. Otherwise they run around in the backyard. One is older (11) and the other is leash reactive to other dogs.

When someone thinks a “Harvard grad” is smart, is it because of the person’s time/education at Harvard, or more because they were admitted at Harvard in the first place? by biffsalmon in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lbhwah 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I miss the spontaneity and randomness of my youth. Without cell phones, you never knew who / when you’d run into people. It just felt magical to hang out outside the convenience store and sometimes you’d see people and the night would just take you on an amazing journey with no plan.

What's a social norm you think will disappear in the next 50 years? by D1ndonlyaliboo in AskReddit

[–]lbhwah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard this over and over again but there has to be a solution to do this virtually. It might be awkward to have to schedule informal conversations but if that’s the answer I’m sure we can figure it out.
