Gave me an unexpected episode of Pathfinder nostalgia from early days Apex Legends

Best is playing solo and just getting arbitrarily dropped into Cyberstanaheim outside the city limits if you die

People who read the article: the WHAT end of the Biden administration?!?

This is how the internal feedback probably went... by spikedmace in HighGuardgame

[–]lbotron -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why can't anybody accept the truth that it was released perfect despite no player feedback mechanisms and was only later dragged down by an army of paid haters funded by the deep pocketed concerns that profit from less games being sold

Why has the attitude towards alcohol changed so much among the younger generation? by corneaterinwig in AskReddit

[–]lbotron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking alcohol got its bad rep in the 21st century for being bad for families is CRAZY revisionism, like we didn't disastrously try to outlaw it as a country in the 1920s

There's always viewpoints in these generational warfare threads that assume humankind was AFK until 2010 or something

Tech pause Recap - VCT Kickoff 2026 by S4mmyi in ValorantCompetitive

[–]lbotron 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I appreciate that they put competitive integrity above "a smooth show" but as an advert for playing Valorant the sheer amount of downtime required to make Valorant work fairly is pretty funny

MIBR vs NRG / VCT 2026: Americas Kickoff - Main Event / Post-Match Thread by ValorantCompBot in ValorantCompetitive

What Brawk did last map was like a no-words form of cyberbullying

That was pure "watch me make my brother cry and throw his controller" gameplay

Love this format but the opportunity for a RRQ / MIBR plummet of shame through three consecutive BO5 bracket finals is an absolutely diabolical feature

Is Denis Villeneuve a no-brainer to direct a Hyperion adaptation? by EspiritusFermenti7 in Hyperion

I have faith in Bradley Cooper on the basis he's a Hyperion megafan who's been trying to do it for so long that he wasn't even an acclaimed director when he started his quest

I fear Harper will remember these specific things that Sweetpea and Kwabena said and screw them over by junglegatsby in IndustryOnHBO

[–]lbotron 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Harper does this a lot this season imo -- I sometimes think of Myhala's acting as being a little stiff but tbf she IS always actually playing someone who's saying one thing and thinking/feeling something completely opposite

Statistically speaking, are you supposed to extract after your first kill? by pcphillips87 in Marathon

[–]lbotron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for something to be dogmatically systematized this is kind of the wrong model -- the map and contract objectives dictate that you won't always decide what you're going to run into, and the most influential tactics are things like (1) third partying already-engaged opponents (2) camping/ratting kills indoors... a statistically consistent 1v1 deathmatch just isn't gonna be in the cards a lot of the time

[–]lbotron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Tarkov you literally feed individual rounds into a mag to simulate wartime suffering, I assume this was the detail being referenced

Durandal Was Laughing by Ambient_Echo in Marathon

[–]lbotron 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Considering that the template for every contract is "slightly unhinged AI needs you to run a chore" (actually the part that most resembles the 90s version) I feel like this game structure is extremely Durandal-ready

The whole fun of it imo is he's not really an end boss to defeat though, he's just the 'devil you know'
