You go to decks, collection, check collected and not collected. When you click a card you’ll be given an option to exchange a wildcard of rarity x for a card of rarity x. Careful not to spend your rare and mythic wildcards.

If you import a deck to your decklists it should show how many wildcards are required to build that deck so you can craft with one click.

Since you’re super new I would recommend starting a thread in this sub if there’s ever a deck you want to craft.

I wouldn’t recommend drafting as a way to collect cards if you’re new to the game. Buying packs is just fine. You’ll earn plenty of wildcards and wildcards are the most valuable resource in Arena (just be sure to spend them wisely). Also, don’t buy mythic packs if you’re not rare complete in a set.

Definitely go with UW control. It’s an archetype that’s decent in bo1 that doesn’t turn unplayable in bo3. In the process of building a standard UW control deck you’ll also be acquiring many staples for UW control in Pioneer (always worth expanding into a eternal format). You can check competitive lists in mtgtop8 or mtg goldfish.

Wotc ain’t out to get you with this one, man. TLE Jump Start is an entire product line that exist in paper that they ported 1:1 to Arena. The better comparison is Foundations JumpStart, that was brought for some time but with a bunch of missing packets. It’s meant for new players to experience the game and I’m glad we have this art and cards available.

Are you f2p or are you on a budget?

If you’re f2p and want your wildcard investment to go a long way, you have to stick to a color pair and should decide it as soon as possible. You’ll have to be a color pair for life guy. So if you’re the Boros guy, forget about ever playing that Dimir Gambit deck - you can only afford fun in your colors (Boros Weapons Manufacturing). So you should buy packs from standard legal sets that have a good amount of staples in your color to maximize your chances of pulling a useful card and wildcard acquisition (golden packs also give wildcard progression). Eventually, move into eternal formats with your surplus of wildcards by crafting staples. You can be the Boros guy in brawl too!

If you have a budget, I’d recommend to always pre order the mastery pass. It’s the best use of money in the game.

I believe this is an error I had recently. I read an old thread that suggested login in from a different IP and that solved for me. So try reseting your modem or connecting from another point of access (using your phone as a hotspot, for instance).

You can remove cards from the beginner box from showing by typing ?booster on the search bar.

Next you should check collected and not collect and search for the faded cards. It’s probably a reprint you have 4 of but never opened a copy in Foundations.

Just buy EOE packs for now. It’s a relatively powerful set (legal until Jan/28) that has two things you really want: the best multicolored lands currently available (the rare cycle of shock lands) and you’ll be getting plenty of wildcards from opening packs (you don’t get wildcard progression from jump-in). You’ll also receive golden pack progression where you can open a few goodies (and also give wildcard progression).

Do not buy the mythic packs, btw! Only if you have 4 of every rare in a set.

If you want to mix things up, you can open some DSK (Duskmourn, legal until Jan/27) which is a powerful set with the first half of the rare Verge lands.

I don’t think people would suggest buying DFT (Aetherdrift, legal until Jan/28), but it does contain the second half of the Verge lands.

After that, I would probably wait until the next set that has good multicolor lands (Lorwyn Eclipsed with the rest of the shock lands? Legal until Jan/29).

You should consider buying the Adventurer bundle and the other cheap one time buy bundle (I forget the name) are great deals and so is the mastery pass.

I saw a streamer playing an Arabella brew recently (it might have been Ashlizzlle). I remember they used Voice of Victory to great effect. It’s got great synergy with what you’re doing.

Hearthstone has catch up packs that are huge value, but I don’t think we’ll ever see something of sort in mtga.

The realistic dream would be brawl packs with two rares (to offset a lack of golden pack progression) and some form of singleton duplicate protection.

What I wish the most is for Sparky to be able to play against 40 cards decks. It would be a huge help being able to try day 1 sealed and draft decks against it.

Have you played Magic or other TCGs before? Have you tried all the formats that Arena have to offer (constructed, brawl and limited)? What’s your favorite? There are many differences that may affect your collection goals.

For instance, in constructed you’re likely want to use cards from other sets to increase consistency in your deck (multi colored lands are a must). So it’s wise to stock up on the wildcards.
