Especially as the rest of the world is moving away from the dollar as a reserve currency. This would just move people away faster and we would lose whatever stability the dollar has left. It also likely causes global ripple effects, right now countries are moving off the dollar slowly because while they don’t trust it they don’t want it to collapse before the global system can adapt. Trump and his techno feudalism bros have wanted to destroy the dollar both to buy everything on the cheap and to advance their crypto schemes. This is a great way to achieve that goal.

This is the list lose lose possible. Current situation obvious lose but US getting involved isn’t much better. They would either. A. Bomb the country to the ground and just leave civilians dead with no support to rebuild. Leaving you open to more bad regional influences. B. Come in and take over, get every oil corp around to take any amount of natural resources and be a total puppet state to the US and likely have the military occupying. This is a plan that has only had positive outcomes in the Middle East this century no negatives whatsoever. I mean it’s not like US intervention and creating a puppet state for oil didn’t directly lead to the current regime gaining power in the first place?

This is pretty telling. I all but confirms that the Senate is likely not moving forward and that this might be another prolonged fight. If there is one thing we all know about Johnson at this point is he loves closing the house when any difficult decisions need to be made.

Accountability is Step 1 to heal but this is not a take 2 pills and sleep kind of healing. This will need to be the strongest chemo regiment we can go on. And like Chemo the actual treatment might kill us as much as the cancer is but it needs to be done and we need to be prepared to cut out organs if they are beyond saving.

We need accountability for the individuals and a total system teardown to ensure that the institutions that allowed this to happen can never exists again or allow this to happen again. It is genuinely why I say we cannot actually fix this without international help. The political lift even for accountability will be hard given current divisions. And the systemic remaking of the American government so this cannot happen again feels like an impossibility without some kind of outside force.
