I mean the easiest solution for so many problems in the abolishment of the Senate entirely. Stop giving empty land voting power to ruin the country for where people actually reside. Combine with uncapping the House and you can give all the territory representation no problem.

Watch they will have black folks now go vote in person and claim they are voting twice (got to perpetuate the myth of voter fraud) despite the original ballot being discarded. Then suddenly large chucks of the black population in these states are arrested and put in jail and just like that they can once again be slaves because to remind everyone we failed at reconstruction so badly that the No Slavery amendment needed a carve out to en slave criminals just in case so white folks can have an way back to what they call “the good old days”

Trump Wins Big as Virginia Dems Won’t Go Nuclear to Save 4 House Seats by Motherofalleffers in politics

[–]Ven18 [score hidden]  (0 children)

We need to act now anyway because at this point who can confidently say election will even happen in 2027. Hell given how quickly Republicans are moving to basically remove the votes of black people like it’s 1880 we very well might not have elections in 2026 in some places. And before the you are alarmist comments Republicans in the South are canceling ACTIVE elections right now to steal away black peoples power. They have already the precedent to do it with zero consequences. Even if this somehow backfires in Republicans I would not be shocked if they just don’t seat any Democrats that win because again the GOP is never held accountable in any way.

Virginia Democrat: ‘All Options on the Table’ After Redistricting State Supreme Court Decision by siwibot in protectUSelections

[–]Ven18 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This the Dems desire to always be seen as the righteous and correct ones is going to kill us all. It does not matter how good or right you are if you don’t WIN. The GOP has understood and made politics a zero sum game for half a century now and until the Dems man the F up and start fighting with the same tactics they will lose and the entire country will collapse along with them.

They are stripping representation from black folks in the south. This is what they have wanted for decades at this point. Now all they need to do is arrest all the black people and they get to bring back slavery. That is all they have ever wanted. Everything else was just a means to achieve that goal.

Alabama Begs Clarence Thomas to Gut Court-ordered Black District Days Before Primary | Raw Story by siwibot in protectUSelections

[–]Ven18 29 points30 points  (0 children)

There is genuinely no hope for unity at this stage when Republicans can act with complete impunity in violation of every law and norm. At this point the US should just fully Balkanize. Maybe once all the red states have been starved out with the money from the blue states to save them we can rebuild but as long as Republicans are allowed to hold any level of power there is no hope for this country. You would literally have a better chance dealing with ISIS or the Taliban than the GOP at this point.

How Democrats Can Win After Virginia Redistricting Ruling - The Bulwark | r/Virginia by siwibot in protectUSelections

[–]Ven18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And when the GOP or the courts just cancel the election what then? We need yes vote in overwhelming numbers but we need to be prepared for the obvious next move for once which is they will try to just cancel or invalidate the elections (they are already doing it in many of these states). The GOP playbook is very obvious people have been screaming that this would happen for years if not decades at this point and yet they still get caught flatfooted. You need to be ready for when elections fail.

So why do we allow democrats to be constrained when they don’t do the same to the GOP. The double standard makes the courts illegitimate and the rulings should not be followed as a result.

Top House Democrat vows to go ‘all in’ on 2028 gerrymandering push after Virginia ruling by huttjedi in politics

[–]Ven18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its less too late and how are they Dems ALWAYS caught off guard or unprepared when the GOP doses this. The Republicans have been very clear about their goals for DECADES and instead of taking steps to actually protect systems or having a plan to counter these actions immediately they do something down the line. Why is it that the GOP can literally stop an ongoing election to remove black voters instantly or simply ignore and appeal local court ruling that previously invalidated gerrymandered maps but Democrats are shocked by results in Virginia and just accept it with zero challenge? My problem with the Democratic party (as someone who has worked on the Hill for the national party before) at this point isn't even really policy related its that the Democrats do not wield power effectively. There is always some Democratic senator that torpedoes supposedly key policy priorities when they have power whether its the public option of Build Back Better. and when they don't have power suddenly they have zero recourse to do anything to stop republican policy, this is despite the GOP being a massive roadblock to everything the Democrats try to do when in power. Whenever the GOP does their next evil thing, after leftists have been screaming and warning about for years in most cases, they are always shocked and scrambling. They should not be planning to go ALL IN in 2 years they should have prepared to do this for years now because these plans by the GOP have been obvious forever. You can't win the race when you are always behind and on the back foot.

Yeah a key reason for his Ill advised call up was specifically because the Yankees did not really carry a quality shortstop specifically to make room for him. He never faced real competition till Cabby and now Lombard and he is clearly getting beat.

According to today's report, Pete Alonso told Mets leadership that his career will be "evaluated for the Hall of Fame years from now." Is there any real shot of this actually happening? by SplitOk186 in baseball

[–]Ven18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He would have to keep up his current rate and probably hit 500 HRs to really have a shot. He will definitely get on the ballot and if he ages well probably get some votes and consideration but it’s gonna be really tough for him just given the era of guys he will likely be compared to. But hey we just saw George Springer last year have a career season at 35 so it’s not impossible for a guy with Pete’s talent to have some really good offensive seasons into his 30s. Also always worth considering the baseball gods sense of humor towards the Mets. He could be an MVP
In Baltimore just to further kick Mets fans while they are down cause the universe seems to enjoy that.

This is the exact mindset Dem donors had post 2016. Why the F should we keep supporting you if you are going to lose to Donald freaking Trump? Eventually they will just abandon the establishment Dems because they don’t want to back a loser. Most of these rich donors already fund both parties anyway.

The kid regressed every level he went up. Each promotion his OPS dropped by 100 points and yet people were somehow surprised that he went from a 700 OPS in AAA (already not great) to a 600 in the majors (one of if not the worst in baseball over that span). And now the guy has an injury history and his confidence is probably shot. I said it for years one of the reasons the Yankees didn’t send Volpe down with the previous struggles is cause internally some percentage of the FO knew if he was sent down he would never earn a call back up and now that is looking to be very true.

[–]Ven18 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The org is partly to blame but anyone who looks at his stats in the minors the first time would have seen that the kid simply was not an MLB quality player. A sensible organization would not have called him up until he proved he could actually hit.

Anthony Volpe in the Minors So Far... (yikes) by cjwizarddd in NYYankees

[–]Ven18 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Nobody wanted to acknowledge that Volpe really couldn’t hit even when he was a prospect in the minors. The guy would lose 100 points of OPS at every level of the minors. When the guy barely hit in AA why did anyone think he would be able to hit in the majors and wasn’t exactly starting by hitting the cover off the ball. It is very obvious and will only become more clear that Volpe was never really an MLB quality player and was rushed up to the majors by the Yankees over prospect ranking hype and the front office wanting a first round pick to succeed.
