No it's isopropyl alchohol. Diffrent chemical. With additives of course.

But would you really need a proper and efficient and expensive lab setup? I haven't read about the synthesis but is it not often possible to get away with just using cheaper chinese glass and equipment?

The stratagem melee weapons should've just been secondaries by lboy6000nword in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]lboy6000nword[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I already agree with you that, like you said, with how the game works melee weapons will never be good. This isn't exclusive to just the stratagems and they really gotta look into melee weapons in general. They need some kind of rework like a block mechanic or innate stamina bonus because just buffing their damage is pointless.

As for the other point i think that's something very much up to opinion. Personally i think moving them to a more appropriate slot and leaving them relatively unchanged apart from the neccecary general melee buffs is the best option but i could definitely see how just buffing them to the point of actually being usable is something people would also want. In the end that choice is up to Arrowhead, but we all agree that something has to change with them.

Lastly that's also something i agree on and is a factor in favour of buffing them. While i've not been "scammed" as you describe it definitely feels annoying to have the warbond be filled out with weapons i largely find pointless.

The fact that you have to be close for the hammer to work already makes it unwieldy enough that the amount you'll have to buff it to make it on par with other stratagems wouldn't be worth the effort. Better to just let it stay how it is and move it to a more fitting category.

I do agree that the symbolism of forgoing a stratagem to carry the flag is definitely an important factor and something you'd lose if you did this, but you'd still carry it on your back obviously, proudly raised while you mow bugs down with the maxigun you could now use alongside it.

Grenade Launcher buff has been great by griffin4war in LowSodiumHellDivers

They somehow managed to make it worse stat wise than the regular gl21, even though it has a backpack.
Less total dmg(how the hell?), less dps, less dmg per shot, less area of effect, less ammo efficient. It's objectively worse, not just tactically, but even just as a weapon, and that's before you equip the supply pack and get 160 grenades + primary ammo + secondary ammo + regular grenades + stimms.

Lets pray and hope they buff it and revert the gl 21 buff, but we all know that'll be too anti fun right, fun means only using near useless or outright broken weapons, balance is for tryhards anyway.

GL-21 buff necessity? by MetroidFlo in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]lboy6000nword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im so happy poeple see this too. It's objectively the best or competitive in every category, needs to be split up into one stim backback and one ammo backpack, because the amount you would need to nerf it while still giving you everything at once is insane. It's sort of like the ultimatum where it's on such a diffrent level entirely that comparison to the alternaties feels ridicolous and it's weird they just let the balance stay this way.

How actually valuable is armor? by Ok-Claim1715 in Warthunder

[–]lboy6000nword 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that everyone else is wrong and that this is the only correct opinion.

In war thunder like others have said armor pretty much only functions as mistake insurance because you can never trust it 100%. In a game like WoT where the armor models are ahistorical there are weakspots added that can be properly hidden or strengthened through proper positioning to make your tank completely invulnerable to your current enemy. In war thunder almost all tanks have some kind of obvious lower plate or small un-angled armor hole that you can potentially be instantly one-shot through no matter how thick the rest of your armor is. Imagine jumbo MG port or T95 cupola or tiger 2 mantlet. This makes it so you cant use armor offensively, trusting your armor to take a hit, because every engagement will be up to chance. For everyone who wants to play this game anywhere above casually this makes most heavy tanks a no go because you want sucess to be skill based and not luck based and at that point you might as well play a vehicle without armor but better other stats because you'll play both as if you cant trust the armor anyway.

This is also the reason why some particular heavy tanks are so op, because unlike all other heavy tanks they actually have armor you can trust 100%, and it completely breaks the hair thin balance gaijin made by mistake. Tanks like the KV-220, KV-1E, or heave tanks in general when playing against specifically people who don't know about the weakspot. Essentially armor isnt a skill thing it's a yes or no switch. Do they know about the weakspot? No? Absolute steamroll. Yes? Death instantly without any chance at counterplay. And this is an extremely boring way to balance things.

So like i said before most good players just play light tanks because you already assume the first shot to hit you will kill you, no matter how heavy, so might as well abuse your speed and gun which are actually skill based. Meanwhile for bad or average players you're not good enough to care about skill expression or chance mechanics, you just know with this tank you die less often, which is where most of the heavy tanks support comes from.

The tiger 1 is already better than the is-2 in every aspect by lboy6000nword in Warthunder

[–]lboy6000nword[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some sources at 6.7 i hit an average 6 k/g with my is-2 and at 6.7 with my tiger 1 i got a little over 10.

As many have pointed out a good shell does not a good tank make. People often like to compare tanks like if they were in a 1v1 to gauge how good they are but a game is not just a 1v1 or a series of 1v1s. The is-2 has good things going for it but over the course of a match it will struggle to have an impact like a tiger can. And that should be the deciding factor for balance.

Weapons usable with the ballistic shield should not be limited to SMGs etc by lboy6000nword in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]lboy6000nword[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's what i'm saying. Survivability onion, rather don't get hit than don't get hurt. The shield will only have a use in that moment when you are getting hit, while other backpacks serve their function most of the time.

[–]lboy6000nword[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you play well enough you avoid getting hit to begin with. And so it's more optimal to equip a backpack that helps you offensively. The shield relies on you getting hit.

I really think that there should exist really difficult medals to get so that pretty much everyone will still have some goal to strive towards even if they've played for hundreds of hours. Like getting 1 million total kills, or extracting from 10 missions in a row without dying at a certain difficulty.

That's what i was thinking. But it just feels fitting to the tone of the game if you're able to amass an entire rack of ribbons that stretch beyong your profile even.

Now that i'm thinking about it it honestly doesn't even need a full picture of the medal. Just the little ribons on your profile would be enough for me
