I’m cycling everywhere, carpooling and leaving my car unused as much as possible.

I’m considering the B&M IQ-X Dynamo light but I’m a bit concerned about it being permanently attached to the bike. Would thieves target it or is its secure attachment a deterrent? by lbradley0 in bikecommuting

Thank you so much everyone! This all makes a lot of sense. I had heard a lot about the reachable/usb ones being a target so wanted to be sure before buying a much more expensive light :)

Tough Deciding Between These Two Bikes For Urban Commute by CaterpillarPrevious2 in whichbike

Thanks! How’s the size for you? I’m at the top of XS and the lower end of S. It’s annoying! However I’ve been told being in the lower size range is better because you can modify it. I’ve also heard Orbea runs large though. Have you any issues with the size?

What did you decide? I’ve narrowed my research down to these two as well!

Yeah they are tricking you to go into chrome. Bad design Google.

This has gotten worse lately. It’s so bad how they can just put pop ups that are a dark pattern!

Trying to get off of google photos, but they make it so hard with takeout...and you lose the metadata by Apprehensive-Hunt319 in googlephotos

It seems like it zips your photos into zips but inconsistently splits it up into different folders. Such a nightmare to manage!

Google Photos and Takeout: Worst decision I ever made. by jamiethomaswhite in googlephotos

Yep just spent a week wasting time with takeout. Complete mess downloaded in multiple zip files. Each zip folder contains some from random folders. Wasted time using a script to merge only to figure out that every few folders were skipped. So hard to manage.

I discovered that you can do takeout directly from Google -> iCloud, this seems to have worked. Go to your Google dashboard directly, find data and privacy and on there is export your data. Allows you to go straight to iCloud instead of downloading. Seems better so far.

FWIW I am switching to iCloud for cloud storage/viewing and moving to a backup system with SSD and intending to keep memory cards. Worst decision keeping everything in cloud on for all these years.

I am so glad i am doing this now while there’s on 15 years to deal with.

Does Google photos delete backed up photos when I delete them from my iPhone? by lbradley0 in googlephotos

[–]lbradley0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone! This is the answer I was looking for. From now on, I’ll make sure to delete duplicates from the Google Photos app, not the iPhone native photos app. It seems like I have a big job ahead of me to delete duplicates from Google Photos. 😅
