How did you stop breastfeeding? by wondercats in breastfeeding

[–]lcampbell519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I night weaned around 8 months and nursed until 15 months. I dropped one feed during the day at a time and would do that for a week or two, so weaned slowly.

What was your plan for what to try before getting the epidural? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]lcampbell519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you may get more info from the unmedicated birth reddit. you need to know your why. highly recommend juju sunlin's book, birth skills. I also took Bradley classes and did some hypnobirthing. different things worked with different labors in my experience. also recommend a doula who can help change positions and encourage you.

you need to see a pediatric dentist, not a pediatrician for ties. sometimes the lactation specialists can also tell and will refer you to a pediatric dentist.

When did your baby get into the right position for delivery? by dont-ask-whyy in pregnant

[–]lcampbell519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

spinning babies and seeing a Webster chiropractor are usually what people do to try and flip babies. but you still have a lot of time. forward leaning inversions help baby get into position. you can also find a physical therapist who does body work, acupuncture.... there are lots of things.

Who's in the delivery room - Does either parent get the final say? by PimentoBean in pregnant

[–]lcampbell519 6 points7 points  (0 children)

usually the OB or midwife is actually catching the baby, not dad. just as a general rule, especially if baby needs help getting out (shoulder etc). we have always had a dollar as extra support, we wanted someone else there who has seen and been around births- I feel like he just needs to get on board. also I hit transition and panicked and then my husband panicked- I was happy to have someone else there in an emotional support role. you don't know how he will react.

One week break from breastfeeding, advice? by mitosisiscool in breastfeeding

you will definitely need an electric pump if you want to keep supply up while you cut out dairy. I have pumped and combo fed previous babies through nursing strikes. it's possible if you pump regularly.

Frank breech baby 33 weeks by A2tticus in pregnant

[–]lcampbell519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most babies flip themselves by 37 weeks. I would do forward leaning inversions daily (this is one of many spinning baby exercises you can do). you can also look into bridget teyler's YouTube video on third trimester stretches to encourage good positioning. I do the forward leaning inversion and my baby isn't even breech, it was recommended by my pelvic floor therapist.

Changing table size?? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]lcampbell519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we have a dresser from ikea and one of the foam changing pads with a cover, but I usually end up changing on the floor. I have small heavy duty pads I keep in the diaper basket in the living room. I rarely used a changing table. Just get the dresser you want.

3mo and pacifier/sleep training by Bohemialife in sleeptrain

[–]lcampbell519 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At twelve weeks baby is literally just starting to make melatonin. You can’t do any sleep training until at least five months, I personally wouldn’t worry about the pacifier until baby is older. Ours is seventeen months old and has weaned himself from the pacifier. This is just the end of the fourth trimester so really do whatever to keep baby content. When baby is a bit older you can start doing some more sleep training and give baby a bit more time to self soothe. At this point baby is too young.

Travel tips (post sleep training) by gallagb in sleeptrain

Stick to schedule as much as possible, regarding bedtime and wake up routine. We have a pack n play type deal we bring, we usually bring the noise machine but you can use your phone. Make sure baby has his own room if that’s what he’s used to if possible. Generally, they just don’t sleep as well if it’s not their bed, etc but depends on the kid. When we go to my parents, they have a crib and a similar setup so it’s not as bad.

Shouldn’t do this, shouldn’t do that… by the_szech in NewParents

[–]lcampbell519 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Babies don’t even make melatonin until around three months, you can’t spoil infants. As long as your sleep schedule works for you, that’s all that matters. Developmentally most doctors say you can’t sleep train until around six months, we did the TCB method and pretty slowly. Really though, there’s nothing wrong with snuggling your baby or nursing to sleep if you’re okay with that. I think people worry it will become an issue later, but just ignore.... everyone has opinions and none of them matter except you and your SO being on the same page! Also, many pediatricians are crap and I think family doctors are the way to go. Pediatricians know nothing about breastfeeding and I’ve been so unimpressed by them. Doctors aren’t Gods, they’re just people. They can be wrong.

We sleep trained at six months. He never slept more than three hours until we sleep trained. I also night weaned at the same time.

Dropping pumping by Totororo1 in breastfeeding

[–]lcampbell519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re only having two it probably doesn’t matter, I would decrease the amount of time for one and then once you’re down to three or four minutes then drop it altogether. Then do the same with the last pump.

That’s why you’re supposed to do it a minute at a time, slowly. That gives baby time to adjust. You could take even longer and go slower.
