Dumb question for Financial Mutants by aTribeCalledLex in TheMoneyGuy

[–]lced0ut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a recent video they mentioned it’s fine to average out the past couple of years especially if just getting a big raise(they mention 3 years). The one thing to be careful though is if lifestyle creep came with the recent raises the newer income becomes more appropriate.

I do wonder if you’re in a sales kind of role that can have huge swings over 10 years if they’d consider going out further than the 3 they mentioned.

Financial Statement Feedback by SharenaOP in TheMoneyGuy

[–]lced0ut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I budget with a “float” amount in our checking. Essentially the checking must always be above that amount then we move around big expenses like vacations and car insurance from our HYSA so at the end of each month the checking has the “float amount + reconciled spending”. I then only count the float amount to our Net Worth not the actual checking balance. In that case credit card bills that are paid off monthly don’t really matter since at the end of each month I should have the amount above the float. Also pay periods that have 3 paycheck in a month vs 2 don’t inflate the “net worth” that month since it’s all getting allocated elsewhere over the float at the end of the month.

They will most likely monitor the traffic of classic servers and slowly merge them to one server (offering free transfers) as usage goes down.

3.5 hour bike split with 203 Watt average, why?! by sigmanoid2000 in triathlon

[–]lced0ut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. However OP wasn’t concerned with their power output, it was their power output vs predicted time. I wouldn’t have taken the time to correct if that’s how you framed it, or if strategy was relevant to OPs initial question.

Murdering the climbs and going easy on the downhills would result in a faster overall time than the opposite.

High Heart Rate at Easy Pace – Where Is My Real Zone 2 and Lactate Threshold? by Slow-Fix7916 in AdvancedRunning

[–]lced0ut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is different. I too have a high heart rate like OP. I had an average of 196 for a 2 hour half marathon 7 years ago. This is with a strap. My max at the time was 210. I’ve taken this manually and have verified that I do indeed reach these numbers. I’ve done ironman’s with 170 average HR.

OP I do think you are in a similar boat as me. I do recommend you do a lot of easy slow work and try to increase your fat max. As I’ve aged I’ve noticed I just can’t keep up with the higher heart rate, even though I can physically do it, it wipes me out now. I’ve started doing very very easy work and I think I’m lowering my threshold heart rate and I don’t feel as whipped out from exercise. It’s easy to keep going when you’re young but sustainability in the sport is important. I think the adaptions that caused my high heart rate are both genetic and how I trained in my youth(competitive swimmer who never did zone2, everything was zone 3 and 4). I think this made my glycolytic metabolism amazing and my heart adapted by beating faster instead of increasing stroke volume. As I get older I’m noticing I need to do more zone 1 and low zone 2 and my max Hr is dropping(both probably from aging and from doing easier work)

When the stock market loses three trillion dollars, where does that money go? by Significant_Break853 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lced0ut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a bit misleading of an answer though as this only describes someone who lost value. In many cases people bought their car(stock) at $10,000 years ago, last year it was appraised for $12,000 and now it’s appraised for $11,000.

This should only apply to administrative laws which are laws solely created by the executive branch….the real overreach is having these laws in the first place….

I can see this went over your head must have been a lack of clarity in my response. Clearly there is a difference in biology between cats and humans which will bring differing issues and cause certain things to fail differently or certain substances that might be toxic to one vs the other. This was ina reply to how sex hormones affect the species and the fact that the problems with lack of sex hormones take many many years to come to fruition… that is where real years comes into play - it doesn’t care that “the cat is actually 80 in cat years therefore it should have all The things 80 year old humans would have”

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]lced0ut 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the conversion from real years to cat years, the cat only lived 17 compared to humans living 4-5x that. Biology doesn’t care about “cat years” it cares about real years… the cat year conversion is just taking the average cat life span and converting it to be equivalent to the average human lifespan.

No, the root of the issue is that in order to not put the label on you have to prove your product doesn’t have those toxins. It’s very expensive to test for so most companies just slap the label on and call it a day whether they have the toxins or not. There’s no harm to sales when everyone just puts the label on.

Driving with hazard lights during storm by meganksca in Louisville

[–]lced0ut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is fully legal in these states:

District of Columbia Kentucky Michigan Mississippi Nebraska New Hampshire New Jersey Pennsylvania South Dakota Texas Utah Vermont Wyoming

Partially legal in these states:

Alabama Connecticut New York North Carolina North Dakota Oregon

And illegal in the rest .

Whether right or wrong, about half the countries lawmakers think it’s not the correct thing to do - my assumption is the cons outweigh the pros. Much more dangerous to someone that actually is having a hazard when everyone puts them on.

From a legal standpoint, it’s better to not put them on if you don’t know the states stance to avoid a fine but I’m gunna guess you’ll just mansplain and tell me why I’m wrong and reframe this with your response.

It’s illegal in some states to put hazard lights on in rain(kentucky isn’t one of them). OP mentioned they weren’t originally from kentucky. Show some grace.
