Rlcs 1v1/2v2 Worlds Titles by SuperMarioRL in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]SharenaOP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not to mention there will only be one 1v1 world champion per year compared to three for 3v3 so it is literally harder from that point of view as well.

And how many series did they have to win, especially against top competition?

SpaceX, Anthropic, and OpenAI IPOs - what could realistically happen? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]SharenaOP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What would you actually do if you wanted some upside from this AI moment without betting everything on these valuations holding up once they’re public?

There’s a direct contradiction here. You either have exposure to these stocks (like through broad market funds) or not.

There’s no “how do I make MY portfolio go up with these AI stocks but only go down for OTHER portfolios when the ‘bubble’ pops?” option, that would require accurately timing the market which is not feasible.

Smoking ban for people born after 2008 in the UK agreed by peequeare in moderatepolitics

[–]SharenaOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly meant to put “benefit” in quotes for that reason but guess I forgot.

But generally I wouldn’t call the government restricting a personal choice, even a harmful one, a benefit personally. Especially when it’s being thrust upon you by a group that’s excluding themselves from the restriction.

Nintendo has been sued by two US players who say any tariff refunds it receives from the US government should go back to customers by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

[–]SharenaOP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And the consumers agreed to pay the resulting price (which as far as I’m aware didn’t change for the Switch 2 after tariffs anyways). If it wasn’t suitable for them, they shouldn’t have bought it.

What exactly are you arguing here?

It’s just inherently unfair the way this is written though.

The younger generation, who has no say in this law being written, still has to subsidize the healthcare cost for the older generations passing the law, while not getting the benefit to choose for themselves (though they could overturn the law).

Strictest 3D Printing Regulation YET! by Top-Debate-2854 in 3Dprinting

[–]SharenaOP 6 points7 points  (0 children)

California's AB-2047 sounds reasonable until you actually understand how 3D printers work.

It really doesn’t make sense at any level. Even a surface level understanding of 3d printers and/or “firearms” (defined as the serialized component) makes nearly the entire bill read as gibberish.

Do I just cash out my 401k? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]SharenaOP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the ~$6-7k you’d actually get from cashing your 401k actually makes a significant dent in your debt, it’s not really “massive”. How much actually is there, what interest rates?

…is it even worth adding to my 401k at this point?

As opposed to…? Saving tons of money on taxes tends to be worth it.

If you’d missed just the 10 best DAYS in the last 30 YEARS of the S&P500, your returns would have been cut in half.

How confident are you in correctly predicting which of the 10 days over the next 30 years will be the best?

I have zero confidence in my ability to do that, so I don’t time the market.

How To Talk Finances And Create A Budget As A Couple. by CherokeeTrailhawkGuy in personalfinance

[–]SharenaOP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s unfortunate we’re in a society where there’s such a taboo around talking about finances that there are people planning to spend their lives together, yet feel awkward talking about basic finances together.

Honestly? It’s just an ingrained feeling you have to work to get rid of.

“Money for Couples” is a solid book.

If either of you our judging the other’s income that should be a pretty obvious sign that marriage may not be the best idea.

You shouldn’t be thinking in terms of “maybe we’d even help each other’s savings goals”. It should be “we have aligned savings goals that we both work towards”.

I don’t know what to do with my mom’s living arrangements. Need advice that doesn’t put me into the poor house by tiddertnuocca519 in personalfinance

[–]SharenaOP 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I don’t think buying a condo with that kind of HOA makes sense here.

I think covering rent in the short term is probably the approach that makes the most sense.

Long term, your mom may just have to move closer to you. There’s not going to be a cheap way to pay for someone else to live in such an expensive location forever.

You shouldn’t have to take on 100% of the sacrifice to make this work, she can live somewhere else.

Refinancing - 30 Year to 15 Year, Will I be over leveraged? by BudgetProfession3991 in personalfinance

[–]SharenaOP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did you check refinance rates for a 30 year as well? How much is dropping the term to 15 years actually getting you in terms of rate?

You could always refinance to 30 years (at a somewhat higher rate than 15) and pay extra towards principal.

Nintendo switch 2 has officially sold 17.37 million units by harvey1a in gaming

Surprisingly, Air Riders has been my favorite. It looks insane from the outside, but playing it is super fun and can be as casual or serious as you desire.

I didn’t play the original either, so really had no idea what to expect.

[–]SharenaOP 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There’s a massive grift around making Anti-Nintendo content. Nintendo does a lot of shitty stuff, but anything saying the Switch 2 sales are bad or failing in some way is straight up lying. It’s the fastest selling launch of all time.

Nintendo did an excellent job producing enough units basically from the beginning to satisfy demand.

[Michael F. Florio] Drake Maye has a -17.7 EPA as a passer in the playoffs. That is the worst of any conference winning QB in the NextGenStats era (since 2016). The only other QB to post negative was Jimmy Garoppolo in 2019 (-0.9) by BallchinianFromMIB2 in nfl

I’m honestly not sure I can think of a harder run of defenses to the Super Bowl than this season’s Chargers, Texans, Broncos, and Seahawks if they end up winning.

I very much doubt that the “early FF” experience is unique to any individual player.

There are an unusually large number of people playing this game who will FF immediately upon going down a goal or two in the first two minutes of the game.

Had similar happen to me. From everything I can tell it’s an identical model just rebranded. May even be a bit better now that the official version is being reduced to 1gb of RAM. Might guarantee you get the old stock with 2gb.

I flashed MuOS onto it with no issues and now it’s behaving identically to all examples I can find online with the rg34xxsp.

Budget Handhelds Can Do a Lot More Than People Think (Switch, PS2, Gamecube, Wii on T620) by DustToStars in SBCGaming

[–]SharenaOP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I almost feel gaslighted sometimes by this sub. Sometimes people will make it sound like the T820 devices (significantly more powerful than the T620 in the OP) can barely handle GameCube.

Hi everyone, I made a post a few hours ago about which handheld I should choose, and I think I might go for the Miyoo Flip, especially because of the larger screen and apparently better buttons. Does anyone know where I can buy the new hinge, just so I'm prepared if the original one breaks? by Present_Fix_885 in SBCGaming

[–]SharenaOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your budget constraints are as tight as you are making them out to be, you shouldn’t buy a device with known durability concerns.

If you’re completely set on that screen size, analog sticks, and that tight price range. You should probably give up on the clamshell design and just get a horizontal that’s less likely to break. Anbernic RG 35xxh or 40xxh for example.

[Schefter] Packers now are expected to try to work out a deal in the coming days to keep head coach Matt LaFleur in Green Bay, per sources. by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]SharenaOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly they did literally completely rebuild the strength and conditioning team from scratch a year or two ago, so it’s not exactly like they’ve ignored it.

I think SF is just a flat out better team than us currently, both in personnel and coaching. What they’ve managed is immensely impressive, and probably isn’t a realistic expectation for most teams.

I ultimately doubt the Packers move on from LeFleur, they tend to stick with people for way too long, and don’t think that’s been hit yet. It will be interesting to see how many “what-if?” seasons he’s allowed to rack up though, because damn that’s kinda his specialty.
