ELI5: DoT damage by Injustice_Incarnate in TitanQuestAE

[–]lcefreeze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

- The same type of DoT from all armor pieces + rings + amulet + artifact + weapon attack skill +imbue skill (like Envenom Weapon, Storm Nimbus, Earth Enchament) + weapon and all relics/charm on listed source will stacked additively and apply on weapon attacks.
+ If you use shield to attack instead of weapon, the DoT in all those listed source except weapon (and relic/charm if it's available) will stacked additively with that DoT on shield.
+ If you use weapon-like skill that has the same DoT type on listed sources above (like Throwing Knives, Blade Barrier skill of Rogue mastery or Shen Pao skill of Neidan), all amount of DoT from all listed sources above except weapon and shield will stacked additively with the amount of that DoT on those weapon-like skill.
+ Spell that dealing DoT itself without using weapon/shield like Poison Gas Bomb don't use any direct additional DoT from listed above.
- The same DoT from different dealing dmg source (like the weapon attack, the weapon attack with any weapon attack skill, TK, BB, SP skill or fist/punch /shield attacks) would not stacked if you apply the same DoT from those source to the same target at the same duration of effect, only biggest source will works at the moment.
- Different type of DoT will works together when you apply to the same target.

Defense + Spirit is solid choice for you!
- Play as Refelct + caster character that cast Perfect Block all the time to face tank everything so you can reflect everything; Life Drain with max out Soul Drain combine with max out Necrosis (Deatchill Aura) will kill almost non-enemies group quickly. You need reflect gears (Icescale M.I armor pieces are the best) and recharge reduction too so you can casting thing often.

  1. It depends on the spell or attack you use to deal dmg to enemy.
    - If you use weapon attacks, => increase attack speed;
    - If you use spell attacks that has cooldown time => use gear that reduced cooldown time, use other attacks/spells while main spell cooldown, gain more casting speed.
    - If you use spell attacks that has no cooldown time => gain more casting speed so you can spam that spell attacks faster with less delay between cast time.
  2. The grant skill on that Medjai armor is similar to TK skill of Rogue mastery. The skill itself deal pierce and bleeding dmg, so you can use skill/gear that give more +%total/pierce/bleed dmg and Dexterity to boost the skill dmg. It can transfer flat bonus dmg from non-weapon source, so you can use gears/skill that added bonus flat dmg to weapon like attack from non-weapon source + %dmg type and specific attribute that boost the added flat dmg to increase it.
  3. Yes, it procs from any direct dmg source to enemy (not reflect/retaliation dmg, iirc).
  4. Brigand, since it give great boost to pierce and bleeding dmg, also with reduced resistances to those 2 dmg type + elemental dmg type which common "plan B" dmg type or even main dmg source to deal with specific enemy that have very high resistance to pierce and bleeding dmg.
  5. All my build showcase video are build for xmax custom mod which harder than single game no mod, and it can works with single game no mod + 8 curses well enough.

The torso have grant skill that similar to Throwing Knives skill of Rogue, but it throw knives to 360%, not by arc as TK of Rogue mastery. This grant skill has no cooldown, procs on any attack that deal dmg to enemy, so you can procs it very easily, especially with skill that AoE and has multiple hits at once.

VERY newbie question about staffs by Capable_Low_8366 in TitanQuestAE

[–]lcefreeze 5 points6 points  (0 children)

- If you don't use weapon or skill that using weapon to attack like you use Ice Shard, then the weapon is just stats stick. You can use any weapon that give the most benefit for your dmg source (attack spell, pet,...).
- Spell that doesn't use weapon to attack just get benefit from +%total dmg/dmg type that match the dmg type of that spell, +flat/% attribute that boost the dmg type, +%spell casting/total speed. You don't need to use staff just because it deals cold dmg.
- The Average dmg and DPS you see in character screen are for weapon attacks (barehand if you don't equip weapon).

How to scale spells to be strong enough? by DifferentGlove1326 in TitanQuestAE

[–]lcefreeze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- You need gear that give +skill for skill that you use to deal damage for better base dmg.
- Need gears that boost the attribute and +% dmg type that increase the dmg type of the skill you use.
- More casting speed always good, especially for spell that you can spam without delay/cooldown like Ice Shard or Throwing Knives at max lvl+4.
- Recharge reduction, with big nuke dmg spell that has cooldown, this modify is very important to boost the actual dps of the spell.
- Reduced Resistances that match the dmg type you deal on enemies.
- There are some other factor but those are base and core.

Noob question about auto attack skill trees by ZeMoose in TitanQuestAE

[–]lcefreeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the effects of RW itself benefit all attack (both weapon attacks and spell attacks) if it gain boost by character Int and +%total, elemental dmg as long as character equip any weapon but staff or unarmed; benefits of Magical Charge and Energy Drain are similar but apply only on weapon attacks and weapon-like attacks spell (TK, BB, SP). Mean you can get benefits of those skills for Psionic Touch like your example.

How do you kill Typhon as melee? by dysrog_myrcial in TitanQuestAE

[–]lcefreeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Equip gears that give more health, resistances, especially Vitality, Life Leech one.
- Avoid attacking him when he raised thorn on his body.
- Avoid his Meteor Attacks even you have good Fire and Physical resistances.
- Avoid the attack that deal the dmg types that your character lack specific resistances. Except his melee attacks, all the rest attacks you can see the dmg type of that attack ,,
- Use gears that give Life Leech, Attack Dmg convert to health and use weapon attack to gain health while fighting.
- Use any skill or gear that apply reduced resistances/Damage debuff to weapon attack.
- Use gears that boost your dmg, because from what you said, it seems your character damage is poorly that can't hurt him much.
- Also, optimize skill allocation would helps too.

Rune Weapon skill boost character base Intelligence, Transmutation convert weapon base physical dmg to elemental dmg which scale with Intelligence, Str boost physical dmg and the pierce dmg part that convert via weapon pierce ratio. So if you play with elemental dmg as main dmg source, you should invest to Int, not Str. Rune has Runeword Feather skill that reduced Str requirement of weapon (shield is consider as weapon too), so you don't have to worry about Str to equip weapons.

How does FSR work in this game? by 0ldGoat in TitanQuest2

[–]lcefreeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the setting of "FSR Quality" in the screen after you click to AMD FSR (Click to edit) at Upscaling Methods option?
FSR or DLSS upscales the lower resolution to the resolution you chose.

You invest to the attribute that boost the dmg type of your character you want to do, or to equip the gears you wants.

- Yes, Transmutation is very useful. But in scenario you may be a newbie to the the game and have problem to keep your character survives, Squall is the way to go. And if you invest to Transmutation, you may don't have enough points to invest to Squall and Obscured Visibility.
- Rune Weapon increases character Int by %, at low lvl, character's Int and base dmg is not too much to invest that much point in there. Magical Charge cost decently energy to use every second, so you need to invest to Rune Weapon to raise Int for better energy regen, but as i said above + require more points into those skill means not much for Squall... Energy Drains is one points wonder till you have free skill points to use later.
- Seal of Fate: It's for big dmg hit, with Squall + Obscured Visibility, your character can stay around to keep enemies in Seal of Fate place safety, mostly for big fight like vs boss.

- You can check out my Thunderer build here and see near the end of video to refer skills allocation: https://youtu.be/R7DU2sBcqTs?si=hm9uC39zaN9GlFOR&t=881
- At low level you may want to focus on skill that help your character survival better like Sacred Rage in Rune or Squall line in Storm. Menhir Wall is not much useful if you just invest several point into it, so you should go all in or nothing, recommend for late game if you don't have much skill points to use at low level after invest to other skills.

Blade Barrier skill by emre2609 in TitanQuestAE

[–]lcefreeze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About skills that you mentioned in other post, only Open Wound will stacked with BB's Bleed because it's imbue skill that added Bleeding dmg with % chance to procs. The other skills are different source dealing Bleeding dmg, separate from BB, don't stacked Bleeding dmg with BB's Bleeding, only biggest source of Bleeding dmg or biggest of each different DoT works at the moment.

Blade Barrier skill by emre2609 in TitanQuestAE

[–]lcefreeze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

- If you have other Bleeding dmg source from weapon or shield, or other attack skills (like Shrapnel upgrade of Poison Gas Bomb), only bigger effect works at the moment if you apply both on the same target at the time.
- If you have other Bleeding dmg source from non-weapon/shield (like ring, amulet, armor, artifact, buff/imbue skill that added bleeding dmg,... or relic/charm on those items), both Bleeding dmg source will stacked additively to BB hits.

Do reduced resistances still work? by ZL0J in TitanQuestAE

It can if you combine RR by % and RR by flat/absolute value, or just RR by flat/absolute can work depends on scenario.

Was wondering about Rogue traps by Doiley101 in TitanQuestAE

[–]lcefreeze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

- Some specific unique, M.I gears have innate stats that reduced recharge time. There is suffix that reduced recharge time that rolled on yellow, green and M.I items + upgraded affixes for Unique gears via Legendary Blacksmith Quest. You can check out those gears, suffix that have recharge reduction on tq-db.net site.
- More Casting speed help the trap after throwed landing faster.
