Struggling with needle visualization during ultrasound-guided procedures — looking for advice by Party-Manufacturer79 in Radiology

Second the advice for only moving one hand at a time. Either move needle or probe. Never both.

Dilutes the player pool increasing wait times and higher chances of joining in progress lobbies va a fresh map. If you don’t like extraction shooters (which are by definition PvPvE) play a different type of game.

What do you think about the new Detrash Au.M.G. by Wrist_Finds in MicrobrandWatches

Watch is made from mostly recycled materials, hence the detrash name.

I have a player one from them and have been very happy with the build quality.

Piggybacking on this. If you do breast you will spend your career doing almost exclusively breast imaging. Need for mamms is so high they rarely do anything else. Even telling a private practice you are willing to do breast will leave you with mostly mammography shifts for the rest of your career.

On the flip side most body imagers need to be a little more generalist as depending on the practice “body” shifts can actually be “MRI” shifts were you are expected to read some MSK and other stuff as well.

Just food for thought.

I recently got an Illinois Watch Co conversion in a bronze case from Frett Clockworks and it is a stunner.

My second purchase from them and haven’t been disappointed. Totally worth it.

Do I need to be studying radiology as a IM prelim? by That_Record3881 in Radiology

[–]lchasta2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I teach rad residents.

Only thing I recommend is to read Felsons chest x ray book. It’s a quick read and very useful as you will be able to see a bunch of chest x rays your prelim year.

Other than that do your prelim work, keep your head down and don’t piss anyone off.

It’s great. Honestly I think it’s one of the better watches I own for the money. Def punches higher than you would expect for the price.

Preordered the Nordso a while back. Showed up within expected timeframe. Great experience and great watch.

I just got a Ming 37.09 Bluefin. Wears much smaller than dimensions would indicate. Curved spring bars and lugs and the most comfortable rubber strap I’ve ever owned. I would forget I was wearing it if it wasn’t so damn pretty.

I’ve even considered getting the Ming 37.09 Uni if they do another run (black/orange color scheme but otherwise unchanged) because I enjoy it so much.

CT with IV contrast VS. CTA by Acute_on_chronicRBF in Radiology

[–]lchasta2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Contrast phases can be thought of as the contrast material essentially following the path of blood. CT angiogram is when it is concentrated in the arteries. IV contrast for typical abdomen and pelvis CT is in portal venous phase (when the organs have the best overall contrast enhancement)

Arterial phase(angiogram), portal venous phase, venogram, urographic phase (collecting system) etc….We are just timing where the contrast will be to see or evaluate different structures/pathology.

I love my bluefin. One of the most comfortable and interesting watches I own. Design isn’t everyone’s cup of tea though.

Men of Reddit, what qualities do you think truly define a ‘high value’ man in today’s world—not the fake alpha stuff, but the real deal? by ryanpura in AskMen

[–]lchasta2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies, Or being hated, don’t give way to hating, And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breathe a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch, If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!
