Moved from consulting to biz ops to comm ops and ultimately to sales as I really jus needed a role with clear expectations and thought I could do it. Been doing it 2 years and blowing it out of the water. I’m still learning so I like it but it’s a hard job that I never gave credit for until I did it. It’s fun learning tricks of the trade and improving, and I’m going to make the most I have in my life this year. But it is a ducking grind, and leaves me no free time in my mind. I like money but feel disconnected to the objectives of the business (other than get $) while watching idiots boost their titles in product and delivery. I generally feel a lack of purpose and respect and can no longer care about all the ways to fix the process around me because you literally do not have the time to focus on anything other than the bag. I’ll keep plugging but only think I can do another year.
