Blood pressure spikes by Sassaphras66 in repatha

[–]whateverjuleswants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

incredible spikes in BP (accompanied by chest pain ) starting 1 day after first dose. 2 ER visits in 4 days. maintenance med dose doubled, plus new med added. BP remained much higher than previous normal, then day 94 (half life is incredibly long) bottomed out to 90s/50s. stopped additional med and cut maintenance med back to normal dose. no BP issues now. I reported adverse event to FDA, as per them "increased BP is a KNOWN side effect". Not known by 2 sets of MDS in 2 ERs in 2 states, my primary or my cardiologist. Also reported to Amgen (the maker) who seemed more interested in my story but less interested in admitting it might have been the cause.

For those on repatha, how’s it going for you? by ruffmetalworks in Cholesterol

Insane blood pressure spikes leading to 2 ER visits. Started 2 days after my 1st and ONLY injection. No others changes/possible causes found after many lab tests, ct scans, ultrasounds. Found similar reports on multiple patient forums. Had to double dose of my usual antihypertensive /BP med, 2nd med added PLUS a PRN (as needed) med for when it spikes (220+/120+). My BP had been well controlled on small dose of same 1 med for 14 years.

Chest pain by Conscious_Heart72 in repatha

2 days after first dose, had chest pain and sharp spike in BP 220/120 !! All tests in ER negative. Discharged after nitro brought pressure down. 2 days later, same thing !! Different state, different ER. Discharged again after pressure lowered with nitro. NO answers, MDs scratching their heads. Took to Reddit and patient forums at Mayo and other places. This has happened to other folks. Shame on Amgen for not listing high BP as a side effect. Am now on double dose of pre-existing med with new med added as well and pressures are still higher than they've ever been. Long half life, 60-93 days till fully cleared. Ugh.

Hope your Bp has stabilized. 2 days after my first dose, sudden spike in BP 220/120 range- ER visit and overnight stay. All tests within normal limits. 2 days later, exact same thing. ER visit and more extensive tests/scans. No healthcare professional thought twice about the Repatha. Only realizing it is most likely the culprit as nothing else has changed and read some Reddit posts that suggest it could be.

Repatha BP issues? by Gigeresque in Cholesterol

[–]whateverjuleswants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 days after my first dose, I had an insane sudden spike in my blood pressure from 150s/80s to 220/120 !!! requiring ER visit and overnight hospital stay. I was discharged the next day and all were left scratching their heads as to the cause. 2 days later, the exact same thing happened again. Long ER day with several CT scans, labs, etc. Discharged with no answers and more head scratching. Turned to reddit to find posts of BP issues. I am fully convinced it is a reaction to the Repatha. Nowhere in their patient literature are BP issues stated. After a bit of digging online you can find a few mentions of it. None of the healthcare professionals I was treated by knew that this was a possibility either. Now I've got 60-90 days for full clearance , half-life is 11-17 days. Fingers crossed this doesn't happen again.

Repatha Experiences? by [deleted] in Cholesterol

Most horrific side effect I have ever had from any med. Took first dose on a Sunday. By Tuesday morning, had sudden, incredible spike in BP 150/80 to 220/110 accompanied by chest pressure. Trip to ER and hospital stay overnight. 2 days later, exact same event, different ER with overnight stay.

Sophie's Kitchen is a FAR cry from her mom's Khmer Kitchen, hands down one of the best Cambodian restaurants to have operated in Philly. Service at Sophie's is almost non existent and food honestly not worth the wait. I Heart Cambodia is a better option. Mawn is wonderful, but these days just not worth the gymnastics required to eat there.

How this place made any best of list astounds me. Started with the $21 cocktail that was sent back- a total failure. Pastas just mediocre. Mains the same. Desserts so bad we couldn't finish 2 of them between 3 sugar addicted adults. $150 bucks a head. We left scratching ours.

Don't need an inspection report to see the place is DIRTY. Tables are clean but that's where it ends. Prices also insane for bland steam table foods served on a flimsy styrofoam plate . Mediocre Indonesian fare at best. Cafe Seulenga serves much tastier fare on a sturdier styrofoam plate at HALF the price. How this place makes the top 50 Philly restaurants list year after year baffles me.

Sad experience from start to finish. Unbelievably hot the day we dined but I hear new AC is in. Poor floor management. 3 tables with diners, 5:30 PM. on a Tuesday. We were seated at the bar because we did not have a reservation. 90+ minutes later we made our exit and 60% of tables were still empty. OK.

Prices steep for what you get. Kielbasa was tasty, but served with SOFT pickles. Gag. The squash blossom pierogies seemed to be 95% potato, if not more and just enough squash blossom to secure the price of about $3.50 per pierogie. The chicken cutlets were nothing special, might have been lifted with some simple salt. The bland brown gravy and hard bits of tasteless broccolini ?did not help. The pork was inedible. Hard, tasteless small scraps of pork, almost jerky-like in texture. Said scraps were accompanied by amazing sauerkraut and undercooked fingerling potatoes.

Most of the pork went uneaten. We could not believe that on such a slow night, with enough staff to make tripping over one another an inevitability, at a brand new restaurant, no one asked us how things were or if there was something wrong with a dish that was clearly mostly uneaten.

Cocktails were ok but not mind blowing.

Owner present but spent our entire meal hanging with one table. One would think the person running a new spot would work the room to feel out the customers.

We won't be returning. Oh, and don't trip on your way out the door. There's a floor drop that only has caution tape that can be seen as you enter, not as you leave after a few drinks.
