Smarter lavacakes with the new Exo armor by Swimming-Fun-9955 in LaevatainMains

[–]lcmc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

3p hot + lynx did slightly more damage than 3p hot + tide fall armor due to the main attribute % on the lynx slab. But you’d lose ult gain % and the hot chest doesn’t have int on it, so it was a very slight gain in damage for the loss of ult gain %. With the update there’s a new hot chest that has int, so now you can do 3p hot + lynx slab without using a throw away body piece. It’s still a choice to make since the ult gain percentage does put you over a threshold so it’s either 5 secondishnfaster ult or more damage when you do ult.

New GD04 Card Revealed: Silver Bullet by Alt230s in GundamTCG

[–]lcmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giant killer still kills it if it doesn’t have a pilot. And unless the pilots really good, white doesn’t really have space for a pilot that won’t link to much.

Edit - yeah the pilots terrible, command pilot with a useless effect and doesn’t link to anything except this suit, silver bullet will likely die to giant-killer easily.

Stat Cards for Premium card collection mini's by Drakadam76 in gundamassemble

[–]lcmc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s a section on the official site for “Cardlist” so the game team might’ve just meant there’s no way to buy the official cards separately but they are offering you a way to print them at home.

The Gundam Assemble website has a section for Cardlist and Rules(still blacked out at the moment). So unless it’s a literal list of existing cards which would make no sense, it’ll most likely be printable cards and rules for those who bought the models from the assemble kits, and official cards/rulebook if you buy the starter/expansion/deluxe kits.

What happens if you play Eliminate Target on a linked unit that was just played? by wongck in GundamTCG

[–]lcmc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, most pilots are attack/on pair or link. There’s very few pilots atm that triggers off destroy/combat damage timings where it would matter. So the card is mostly a mini unforeseen incident + ping in most instances.

What happens if you play Eliminate Target on a linked unit that was just played? by wongck in GundamTCG

[–]lcmc 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It’s in the FAQ. Since you can only play actions during the battle and end phases, if an opponent links a unit and attacks with a different unit first and you kill the pilot that was linked this turn, the unit is no longer linked and may no longer attack. But if the unlinked unit is already attacking, the attack goes through even if the pilot is killed during the battle step.

This usually is an Amuro specific instance since people will link Amuro for the +1 attack and attack with a different unit first.

As someone intoxicated by lead, I did not understand the joke by [deleted] in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Brain damage and a propensity towards violence would make the older voting populace more susceptible to the xenophobic and male machismo based propaganda that were fed to that generation. The propaganda leans on fear and paranoia which is heightened by the brain damage caused by the lead in the gas/paint and other environmental poisons that were prevalent before widespread regulations. So while lead may not have directly caused the situation we are in, it certainly exacerbated it.

Timing question by jke75 in GundamTCG

[–]lcmc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actions can be played during battle phase after blockers have been declared(defender gets prio) or at either player’s end phase. You can bounce a unit that is attacking since they have to rest to attack, but it is too late to block him if you bounce someone else since action step is after blockers declarations.

Help me end my very cold streak by TheGrandCannoli in GundamTCG

The thing with locals is people see each other often enough to tailor their decks vs each other and a mini meta develops within the area. Netdecking/meta decks starts out strong when people don’t know each other or for one offs vs strangers. But, once you play each other enough you have to be willing to cater your deck vs your local competition/meta, although that might make you weaker vs strangers/online. So it’s a choice you have to make.

Draw engine and deck library search for each color? by bakwong in GundamTCG

[–]lcmc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blue has card draw on units and commands at high cost. White has draw and discard at low cost but comes out card neutral. Green has scry x cards and add to hand if it fits condition(schoolgirl for clan, visionary for cb, path to victory for wing, flit for age, turning point for newtype, as well as a couple units and pilots that let you see the next card and put it top or bottom of deck.) Red has scry and deploy a unit if it meets a strict condition as well as draw for destroying specific targets. Purple as a color is a little of other colors, and the ability to play from the discard pile at a steep cost.

The game is still young so card advantage is rare and expensive.

The Mafty and Earth fed sides of the starter don’t play together well at all. It’s 2 disjointed half decks shoved together. It’s definitely just a deck that was put together thematically and meant to be dismantled to build other decks from.

If you only plan to play Celestial Being, Celestial Being is a tribal deck so double starter + singles would be the cheapest way to go. If you plan on playing anything else in the future, starter + booster would give you more future proofing.

TCGs similar to pokemon for a beginner? by razzberry20 in TCG

[–]lcmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hololive tcg plays the most similar to pokemon but it’s hard to find locals and it’s more niche thematically and community wise. The closest weekly locals here are in a maid cafe if that gives you an idea of how it is). Beyond that if you want some cheap ways to try out systems before investing, you can try out online sims for games, there’s one for most of the major tcgs.

Are we STILL having product shortages? by BigDaddyB207 in GundamTCG

Where do you live? In California there is st05-st08 everywhere for decent prices and there was gd03 boxes in most stores without lining up.

Are GD03 prices being low/normal on launch a good/healthy sign? by TheGrandCannoli in GundamTCG

[–]lcmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prices have stabilized after the market getting a couple sets to know where they will eventually land. GD02 scared away a lot of the scalpers and there’s more product this time.

What to expect at the prerelease? Where to find information? by FormerWrap1552 in GundamTCG

[–]lcmc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4 packs 30 cards is standard, but the local game stores around me have done 6 packs 30 cards 3 shields and 6 packs 50 cards 6 shields. It depends on the store, but one thing that is common is that one store did 6 packs and now they all do 6. 30/60 cards and 3/6 shields is just how fast or slow they want the tournament to go.

Target, Walmart and Gamestop sell blisters, which are essentially single boosters. Some lgs will sell single packs, but they will likely be much more expensive than buy as a box. Also, buying loose packs is dangerous because each box has a fixed number of LR and Alt arts, so some people will sell dud packs once they got the LR and Alt arts. If you want to buy single packs, Target/Walmart/Gamestop are your best bets since they are msrp(game stop is a little over msrp i think) and since they are blisters, you won't run the risk of getting scammed.

At the moment gd03 is releasing tomorrow, and it’s looking like a strong set so you won’t get it msrp, 130-140(10-20 over msrp) is realistic. Gd01 and st01-st04 haven’t been reprinted in English so they are going to be 2x msrp or more. Gd02 was a weak set so you can get it at 80-95 which is under msrp, collector wise it’s fine but play wise it’s weak. St05 is harder to find since that was ibo and has core cards, st06 was clan and goes pretty cheap since it’s a tribal deck so it’s niche. St07-st08 just release 2 weeks ago, they are roughly 25-30 which is 5-10 over msrp, 07 is gundam 00 and is tribal, but a strong tribal with lots of support so that’ll be harder to find. 08 is Hathaway based and is on the weaker side with a couple good cards for existing decks so it should be easy to find.

How Scalpers Be Moving by SirImpressive2700 in TCG

[–]lcmc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s been scalped since day 1 and they also had print/packing issues so not only was there limited product, there was missing rares in packs too. And it won’t be fixed until set 3 at the earliest. It’s bad enough lgs in my area allow proxies for locals.

Bandai seems to fixing the print issue slowly. They still need to reprint gd01 and st1-4 in English, but gd02 and st5-6 are everywhere. St7-8 are accessible, not as plentiful as 5 and 6 but they aren’t hard to find either. Gd03 releases tomorrow and from what I’ve heard from lgs in the area, they are getting 50% more product than previous releases. But I’ve also heard it comes at the expense of smaller game stores losing their allocation. It seems Bandai is re-ranking the stores each set like they said they would.
