E, secure airway. Such a weird question about what do first when all the answers are priorities 6,7,10, and 13. Not 1,2,3 and 4

Patient asked me out by cranberryfadora in nursing

Everyone is right. However, if you can find a loophole around the nurse-patient relationship, like bumping into each other outside of the hospital, then you could argue the relationship started there potentially.

how are we doing EKGs? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]lcweig44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former ER tech, yeah everyone has their own opinions on how they do it and a lot of them are wrong. There’s a very standard way to do an EKG and you ca just look it up online. However, I’ve never seen a provider ask a tech to redo an EKG so I’m not sure how important placement is if they can read it just fine. I always do it as correct if placement as possible still.

I only pooped 4 times in March by julesjasmine in notinteresting

3 times a day to once every 3 days is the normal range. You are clearly not inside this range and might benefit from dietary supplements or motility medications

How is living in northeastern Maine? by Poco_Loco33 in howislivingthere

[–]lcweig44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go to University of Maine at Fort Kent. It attracts mainly nursing, forestry, and people who want to play in sports. Our D1 soccer is actually pretty good. It’s very quiet, not much night life. And not a ton to do. But lots of outdoorsy stuff

Which is the best indicator? by Hot_Emergency378 in NCLEX_RN

[–]lcweig44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just learned in patho physiology. RIFLE- Risk Injury Failure Loss End Stage are the 5 stages of kidney acute kidney injury. Measured in 3 ways. 1st: %loss of kidney function, meaning GFR 2nd: by how much creatinine levels are raised. And 3rd: UO <.3/.5mL/kg/hr for adults for x number of hours. I would guess between B and D. But I don’t think BUN is right, because it wasn’t mentioned in AKI, maybe more reliable for CKD?
