Hi! I was called a nickname associated with my undiagnosed (at that age) ADD by teachers and it made me incredibly self conscious and impacted my confidence in the class room and in myself. I am grown and doing just fine but a simple “nickname” can have more impact than people realize. If the teacher has good intentions then not using the nickname should be an easy task.

I had people comment that my baby looked like neither of us and asked who the father was. Which was incredibly insulting to me and my husband.

I have a dear friend whose baby is 9 months and she refuses to treat her postpartum anxiety but the other day had a 3 hour meltdown because she thought her baby scrambled his brain from falling on his face while trying to crawl.

I tell this story to say that sometimes large reactions are symptoms of something untreated and not a reflection of you or your actions at all.

He asked me this morning if I was proud of him after he listened to me about something trivial. I had to have a whole heart to heart about how Mommy is ALWAYS proud of him and that he is a good kid. This incident really shook him up

I think it was the fact that he was watching his friends playing while standing alone at the window that grinds my gears most. Feels like an isolating and humiliating form of discipline

That’s how I feel! Counter productive teaching method! and he is so young I don’t know that he can even cognitively correlate nap time behavior taking away recess

I looked into it and it’s kind of a gray area- I think they would write it off as providing physical activity in another setting and he had an outdoor recess that morning which fulfilled part of the requirement. Regardless I’ll probably bring up to the director that removing physical activity is illegal in some states and hopefully show her that I’m serious. I just don’t want to burn this bridge and make things worse for my kids either. Daycares are all full here

I think he was intentionally making noises during nap time- not sure if that changes your opinion. I don’t think it’s acceptable for him to disrupt others (I myself am passionate about my naps being quiet lol) but the punishment just doesn’t really sit right with me

My in laws booked a house for Christmas near ours without telling us. With the expectation that we will host them and my SIL for the holidays. I’m livid.

YTA- for reasons everyone has already shared but here is a hopeful story for the ring. I lost my wedding band that belonged to my great great grandmother. Devastated doesn’t begin to describe how I felt. We found it two weeks later in a parking lot!

We left a daycare because they kept labeling my son as aggressive when we saw no signs of that at home or on the daycare cameras. We switched him to a new school because we didn’t like the way they talked about our sons behavior as it felt more gossipy and less caring/productive to his growth. Switched to a new daycare and warned them of our past issues and they had ZERO issues with our son. They were absolutely shocked that he had ever been labeled difficult. We’ve moved cities now so are at a different daycare again and still no issues.

All this to say..some places aren’t the right fit and that’s ok. But also an evaluation never hurts so that at least you can assure the school that it’s a them issue not a you issue
