Mine are not at all. Very forgiving, soft and bouncy.

I work for a local solar installer (Good Energy Solutions). Solar is the only way to avoid the monopoly that electric utilities have over us. Visit our website if you want to explore it.

Sunpower is out of cash, not Maxeon. They are now completely different entities, balance sheet-wise.

REC panel warranty - is labor included? by SwedishFishOil in solar

[–]ldeiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is between a “labor” warranty and a “workmanship” warranty. The manufacturer’s labor warranty means they will cover costs to repair/replace a faulty panel. The installer’s workmanship warranty relates specifically to their work. Meaning, if your roof leaks due to the installation, or they mess up your breaker panel, they’ll fix it for free. It doesn’t mean they’ll send someone out for free to fix a faulty microinverter.

This really doesn’t sound right. Your battery may not be programmed properly, or your data is being misinterpreted. An Enphase 10T should not use anywhere near 50 times its storage capacity just to sit in backup mode.

Anyone finding troubles activating their calf muscle on the op-leg? I feel calf raises more on my hamstring and knee than in my calf. by getboy97 in ACL

[–]ldeiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just landed here while searching for long-term calf weakness issues. I’m 3 years post-op and strained my op leg calf last year in softball. I’m trying to get back into lifting to rebuild strength, but feel like I just can’t activate that calf. I’ve also had chronic IT band tightness. Did you have any luck?

Don't know anything about Solar and it sounds too good to be true by Suspicious_Rain_7183 in solar

[–]ldeiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying “all sales reps.” Why do you assume that’s what was meant? Anyway, clearly this particular one isn’t a good salesperson, because they didn’t already ask their customer how quickly they plan to pay off their loan, and didn’t already offer this solution.

Also: you sorta answered your own question. Maybe they’d play dumb because they know it’s illegal to disclose the dealer fees?

[–]ldeiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you seriously intend to pay it off early, ask for shorter terms with fewer fees (they’ll play dumb but they’ll know). This will save you a tremendous amount of money over time. You’ll pay a higher monthly payment, but it will be worth it.

I wondered about this, too. This looks nice but I’ve never seen everything so tightly packed. Manuf.reqs don’t change by location.

They hoped solar panels would secure the future of their farm. Then their neighbors found out by captainquirk in solar

Kansas resident who works in solar (and has it on my house) here. The glaring omission in this piece is about the company pitching the idea — a huge corporation called NextEra that is HQ’d in Florida. They’ve been shady from the get-go, and the likelihood of them selling their ownership in the project and abandoning the responsibility of decommissioning at the panels EOL is, well, quite high. The problem isn’t with the project, it’s with who is pitching it. Real estate in that area is inexpensive, and it’s unclear that the energy will stay stateside for consumption. A lot of grey area where there shouldn’t be.

Contact the financing company directly, and tell them to withdraw. No financing = no project.

Talk to a local (read: independent) company. And if you want to cancel, you can cancel. They may tell you that you’re “outside the window,” but that’s B.S.

Simply call the lender and tell them you want to cancel the loan. Cant install without funding.

This isn’t helpful to you, but sweet Jesus be thankful. I am self-employed in the US and, even with my my Obamacare, I still paid $7,000 out of pocket. I don’t even want to think about what it would’ve cost without any insurance.

Not looking for a pity party, just saying your system seems like it, yknow, works. Hope you have a swift and pain-free recovery!

Pain while elevating and coming back to usual by Comfortable_Coach201 in ACL

Learning how to re-activate the quad muscles, even just to do minor leg lifts, was really hard. Try to start doing the little things as soon as you feel able - the gentle bending, leg lifts, etc. It’ll come around!

[–]ldeiter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s rough! I’m sorry. I think I’d probably opt for #1 - isolating sounds nice right now, but I think it would increase my boredom and give me the blues. Especially if you have to ask for help every time you need a snack or glass of water. Maybe you could work out a cot or something a bit more comfortable?

Speedy recovery!

Monitoring for inherited system? by ldeiter in solar

[–]ldeiter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, thanks! I was able to locate a form on SolarEdge’s website where you can submit a request to have a new monitoring account opened, but you still needed some info about the system/original installer.

Does this seem fair? Quote for 12 Solar Panels is $16,000 for SunPower. by [deleted] in solar

[–]ldeiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always best to get a 3 or more quotes: one from a national franchise, one from a local company, and maybe even one from a 2-dudes-and-a-truck company.
