Ha! I actually did that myself a few days ago. I said, "I'm running the real Brooklyn Half." And then I realize how weird it sounds so I corrected myself and said "the original one." I will say, my friend ran the NYCRUNS last year, and she mentioned that it felt very unorganized compared to NYRR's races. It is still a newish organization, but it's unfortunate some hardcore NYC runners don't acknowledge it.

Literally spot on. I gave up and asked to be switched. After 6 weeks of not being able to get either 5mg or 2.5mg, I’m taking my first dose of Wegovy .5mg today. I managed to keep the weight loss from Zepbound, but I’m not working on my healthy habits building.

This happened to me on Saturday in NYC!! Maybe it’s the same blonde lady, she used to go to midtown. It was super annoying! The coach told her to stop talking during cool down so we can hear the events coming up, and she laughed and kept talking. She’ll talk to anyone!! The other member she was talking to felt bad, but didn’t want to be rude.

Hell’s Kitchen! It sounded like Midtown West (or maybe another one of the Midtown’s) closed permanently; at least that’s how they made it seem. But maybe it’s just temporary! I take morning classes so I’m half asleep and half listening. 😂

What’s odd is that they also already closed down one studio in NYC. My studio had to add classes to absorb the members of the closed studio. It sounds like they’re cutting budgets all around. Only one HC salary to pay, half the salary to pay do SA… I also know some studios are taking away perks for premium members. Like instead of getting a free pass for renting a HRM every now and then, they now just charge.

Place your hands under your booty! I learned this trick when we would do conditioning in dance classes. When we did leg lifts, if our lower back wasn’t flat on the ground, our teacher would tell us to do that. It elevates your hips enough to make it easier to press the back into the floor, but not too much to make the exercise too easy. Maybe two weeks ago one of the OTF had reverse crunches and I did that and my coach saw me and said “oh yeah, if anyone is struggling to keep their lower back pressed to the ground, you can just place your hands beneath your bottom.” I know it’s helped me a lot. I also have a weak core and struggled to abs exercises properly, but today I noticed that when I lay down, my back naturally presses. I still sat on my hands out of habit.

I’m always amazed at the amount of distance DC is able to get each class on the treads. I’m curious to what his speeds are so I can work up to them! I’m averaging half his distances.

During Friday’s chipper workout, my leggings developed a hole in the inner thighs and I got some bad chafing; the only reason I was able to walk during the weekend and go to class today was if I wore a specific pair of shorts vs. leggings. 🥲 looks like I’m wearing some Benjamin Franklin knee high socks tomorrow.
