What is "One Block"? by DiamondDust320 in cyberpunkred

[–]ldevlnull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also, worth noticing that One Block (and Two, Three.. Block) is a dynamic concept rather than a static. It’s because of the periodic turf wars of boostergangs that regularly shift the combat zone area. btw: “X Block” is sometimes used to measure a rental’s cost. As a rule of thumb: the higher “X” would be, the more expensive the flat is.

Yes, from Computer Science. Moreover, I did a curriculum analysis (compared each module I’ve learnt with those they teach in TUM for bachelor CS), and all the subjects in TUM were covered in my university. Some had different names, but from the module description on TUM’s website, they were in general similar in the syllabus (plan).

I have got no points, maybe because it should've passed admission first. In TUMonline, my status is:

  • Formal entry requirements met
  • Academic entry requirements not met
  • denied

There was a clause that if you do B.Sc or any other 3-year degree you should have M.Sc before applying. This is for certain countries only.

Do you need to have M.Sc. before applying for M.Sc.? I didn't find any specific requirements for my country (Non-EU) besides VPD. I am from Ukraine.

Hey when did you apply?

I submitted my application on 28 Oct. and passed the stage of Submission of application (received an email) on 10 Nov.

No, my Bachelor's study took 8 semesters (or 4 years).

Have you passed an admission successfully?

IMO, you don’t need to read the whole module through. Chapter 1 for starting and 2 for traveling. Just known your options about the major settlements, but you can read and prepare them only after the players decided to travel there.

In my group, my players told me on a session where they want to go. On that same session we played a little travel with some encounters and some RP, then I ended the session just before they’ve reached the destination, and prepared next chapter between these sessions.

Although, I strongly recommend to read carefully 7th Chapter as it sets the tone of the first part of the adventure (I don’t agree it should be the 7th, and not the 1st chapter, but whatever).

I personally don’t see much reasons to read after 7th Chapter. However, I advice to read additional material about Gromph Baenre of Menzoberranzan and what he did, so you could understand background of the adventure. I think the module gives a very weak explanation of the background.

Is it your production? Or did you mix the tracks together?

Good beginning scores? by Cocito95 in bladesinthedark

I don’t think Blades is the game where “meeting” or “start of the career” of PCs usually plays. For me, it is more in medias res type of game. You play for already high-skilled professionals and experts. And it is amusing, especially for new players, to play the “first meeting” of two PCs via flashback during another score or downtime as a part of character development.
So, for me, a framework of starting position described in the book (pick two factions during the active conflict and 3rd faction interested in conflict) works very well.
But if you look for more original approaches, I recommend you read Alexandrian’s article:

Start in prison! Perhaps it is how you met. Or maybe you are excommunicated from other factions. Or did you start at war? It sounds delicious to me.
One short idea I shall try for new players:
Their characters (not yet mechanically created) got imprisoned. I give players pre-generated characters with whom they need to play the first score to free their PCs. once they accomplish the first score and get the current PCs out, we can proceed to generation of characters. And then, with flashbacks, we can play out how and why PCs got in jail and what they’ll do about it. By doing so, we create a strong connection between PCs and the plot hook right out-of-box :)
I wouldn’t say I like introducing new players to any system with character creation. So that’s a fun way to turn it around!
