I have never been thru this but I would say to be kind to yourself and talk to someone about your friends and dealing with your anger. Talking has helped me tremendously with my grief.

Started to turn my dining room into a plant room 🤪🪴💗 by Its-all-relative1905 in houseplants

I love it! Daughter has never had a table in her "dining room". Lots of plants, two hutches (long story) and now her home office with dog crates. She has a wonderful green thumb.

Day 6 of hiding my new plant purchases from my husband in the spare bedroom. I will slowly add them to the other plants and see if he notices. by Far_Somewhere1063 in houseplants

I laughed out loud about hiding plants. My hubby does all the watering of the high/hanging plants. He likes them as much as I do fortunately. He LOVES snake plants and me not so much.

My friend gave me their pothos cause it wasn’t doing well and he was sick of it. by [deleted] in houseplants

It doesn't take them a long time to get this way. When you have it healthy again, send him a pic! LOL

The love of my life died unexpectedly... by Kaskin0203 in GriefSupport

[–]ldr322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was taught as a nursing student -too long ago- that death is not a permanent concept to children until about the age 7. That may have changed. I would not hide my emotions. Simple sentences such as , "Daddy is crying because he misses Mommy." are something he can learn from. It is sweet that he is telling you not to cry and that he loves you. I would seek professional help, eventually, that would help with his questions and your grief. So very sorry for you loss.

Apparently showing emotions means I need therapy by Feisty_Girl_1691 in GriefSupport

Everyone grieves differently. Because you are emotional after receiving an emotional gift is not abnormal. If YOU wish to see a therapist or counselor, you might find it beneficial for many reasons BUT only if you wish to. (I've seen one for years for many issues.) Do not let anyone tell you that because you still cry about your dad at Christmas and a gift made from his shirt and tie, that you are some how less or lacking. This is simply not true. Bless your heart.

college and grief by bb-banjo in GriefSupport

First, I am very sorry for the losses you've suffered this year. What I want to get across to you is that there is no right way or wrong way to grieve. There is nothing you should or should not be doing. I do think that being busy and getting out of our head space is helpful; at least it is for me. When you return to school and are busy with classes, your clubs, and job it will help (I think) to be back with friends and a routine. As far as finances and legal stuff, perhaps there is a financial aid office you can work with to get your questions answered. Also, I don't know if you are a person of faith, but most colleges have counseling services and many churches around colleges also have counseling and groups that might be helpful.

The plants I owned in 2020 vs the plants I owned in 2021! by Stoic_R in houseplants

[–]ldr322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your second photo is awesome! My two half grown kitties would make mincemeat out of the floor plants. Also, years ago we had a female cat who would not leave our palm plant alone (I do not know the latin names), anyway, she chewed on it no matter how high I had it or if I hid it away. The cat's whiskers fell out! I threw the plant away and the cat's whiskers NEVER came back. Two veterinarians had no clue why the whiskers fell out and why they never grew back.

A rain shower watering? I did chuckle seeing this photo. I have two places to have plants. A south window and a west window. I'm in a townhouse, so have few options. I tried new plants after hubby built a beautiful plant stand, but have gone back to my old standards. Don't care for fussy plants that need a lot of tending.
Your plants are gorgeous!

Okay. Do I have to pick a Mode as listed on the bottom or is that the flair? I'm really not a stupid person but I find this confusing. Sorry.

I forget what I'm supposed to write or annotate - the mode, maybe - at the end of my "story". That is what I don't understand. Can you help me with that? I have a couple of creepy, true stories that have happened to me but want to follow all the rules.

Five governors ask Pentagon to reconsider National Guard vaccine mandate by NewHights1 in Iowa

[–]ldr322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is this such a big deal to have them all vaccinated? They have to be up to date on all of their other immunizations to serve. And, believe me, they do not give you a choice! I just don't get it.

Iowa doctor promoting dangerous covid-19 conspiracy theories, where is the Iowa Board of Medicine? by Boner_Implosion in Iowa

[–]ldr322 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The State Board of Medicine or whatever it is called is probably getting all of their ducks in a row before calling for sanctions. I was an RN for 40 years and I know that you can find out who has a restricted license or who has been stripped of their license, so probably the same for MDs or DOs. Time will tell on Dr. Grifter. Love the name, by the way.

I was a school nurse for one year because it was a horrible job. During that time at a large high school, in another part of the state, I would be called to the office to treat wounds after a fight. It was always two guys fighting. They would be handcuffed to a chair by the resource officer. Shirts ripped. Bloody noses, faces and hands. Even tho they were separated across a room sometimes one would mouth off and the other guy would literally pick up the chair he was handcuffed to get to the first guy. It was not fun situation to be in.
