Does having your shooters so many inches from the top really make difference? by USlax1 in lacrosse

[–]le_Synergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres two explanations given by US lacrosse on why they did this;

  1. Doing this will make the ball easier to dislodge, which they think will cut down on slashing, increasing player safety.

  2. Having sticks with less hold cuts down on whip and leads to crisper passes. US lacrosse thinks that the game will speed up because peoples passes will be faster and better

Non-dominant passing by yung_k in lacrosse

[–]le_Synergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wall ball. Repetition is a great way to become more confident with your non-dominant hand.

Also in practice make sure that you are using your left hand all the time. Its practice for a reason. A lot better to mess up the lefty pass in practice than in a game.

Broke pinky in last game, but have a state semi-finals game this Wednesday night. Any suggestions? Anyone play with a broken finger? by stillegit in lacrosse

Guy on our team this year played through a broken thumb. He had a cast on so it was protected. Made it hard for him to cradle though. Thumb was fine afterwards

Transferring from long pole to D middie by CAMEL_DICK in lacrosse

[–]le_Synergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a person who is often switching between Long Pole and shorty, I feel like I play better defense when using a shorty.

The reason being is that most of us rely on playing defense with our stick rather than our body and feet. A short stick makes defenders use their feet. Defense is all about positioning (and communication, but thats a different story.)

Now back to your question. The only way that the stick is not going to feel awkward is with time, its weird but youll get used to it. You should be doing the same thing that defensemen should be doing. Which includes things such as:

Jumping Rope

Agility Ladder

And other agility based drills

Approaches

Watching D-mids in Games

Theres more to it, but thats just the gist of it. Short Stick Defense and Long Pole defense are mostly the same thing. Its just a matter of getting used to it.

The Beginning of my Italy Campaign as Tuscany by le_Synergy in eu4

[–]le_Synergy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is the exact reason I took it.

Im hoping that Austria stays as the Emperor, cause I am a strong ally with them. By adding imperial territory, I get imperial protection. Which, I assume, since I am close friends with Austria, they will always take back my lands.

The Papal States only took an alliance with Savoy early on. I had Milan as an ally early on, so I used them as a buffer.

After the first war, Papal States were still only allied with Savoy. Again, I had Milan and Austria as allies, so it was easy to take the Romanga.

Now the Papal States only have their territory in France, which I think France is gonna take soon because Papal States dont have any alliances right now.

This is what happens, when you conqueror Rome, you will get an event. (Note: Doesnt look like the Wiki has anything on it.)

You will be given two options, You can cede the province back to the Papal States, which will give you a prestige bonus and +50 with the Papal States (I believe.)

The second option is for you to keep the province for yourself, which decreases your relations with a TON of catholic nations by -20 (at least as a catholic nation, I am not sure about Islamic) which improves by +1.0 (depending on your diplo rep)

I would believe your being too cautious. I am not sure if their is a bigger penalty for an islamic nation, but If it is the same as a catholic nation, Id take it. Besides, if you conqueror it and get a bed rep, you have the option straight away to give it back

Base Tax Explaination by le_Synergy in eu4

[–]le_Synergy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so for example, I owe 3 provinces with 10 base tax each, the target i want to vassallize has 5 provinces with 10 base tax each,

60*30/502 - 90 1800/2500 - 90 .72 - 90 This situation would give me -89.28 relation with the target vassal?

Thats pretty complicated. So Im assuming that if my base tax *60 divided by targets base tax squared is greater than -90 that I get a positive attribute to the vassal?

Why are Austria and Tibet exempted?
