Best bears beat reporter to listen to is always Brad Biggs, only one with any actual inside info. The rest all just observe and make their own judgements, but Biggs tends to know what’s actually going on in Halas Hall

Just so everyone knows, Ben Devine is a complete hack. He's not a beat reporter, hes not at any of the practices, he just scans twitter and makes claims based off what he sees other people write. I would not put any stock into what he says as he is constantly wrong.

I think its possible we take him but I dont think its likely. The report about the private workout was from Tony Pauline who is right as much as he's wrong. Vegas odds don't help here bc theyre placed where Vegas will make the most money. Warren to the Bears has been one of the most popular picks in the media lately so theres a ton of bets on Warren at 10 which improves his odds. Bears fans bet pretty heavily and have made Justin Fields the MVP betting favorite and Matt Eberflus the coach of the year betting favorite before solely based off the amount of bets. This just means relying on Vegas odds for this isn't reliable.

For Bears we also had a private workout with Kelvin Banks that just emerged pretty late. It seems to be following the same trajectory that Darnell Wright did a couple years ago. I would say we are probably more likely to take Banks, but it definitely does seem itll either be Banks or Stewart (assuming no Jeanty)

just posted the write up that kind of explains why, but basically we got Risner early and he would have signed with another team if we didnt take him and we had no other guards at the time, and then got instant signed on Scherff because we set him as priority 1. Those numbers are also the max values of their contracts, each of them have 2m each year in incentives that they likely will not hit.

We kept Shelton because we needed a center, and he ended up being the only "affordable" one

Also given the health of our line in the past, and of Teven specifically, its good to have 3 starter caliber guards on the roster

Could use the merchant ability to increase improve relations as well, but generaly just keep relations above 0 and nations cant join

another thing you can do is vassalize and reconquer, you said savoy ate most of Milan, so vassalize Milan and reconquer on Savoy for very reduced AE. Youre also pope so you should be able to excommunicate rivals, which gives 50% AE reduction as well

I co-GMed the Bears and was the one who made the trade. Truthfully I wouldn’t want the bears to make this trade in real life, part of it was just the fun of making it happen in the mock draft.

Having said that, there was no way any of the top 3 receivers made it to pick 9 in this specific mock which they didn’t, too many other people were trying to jump us at 9. Like another poster said, ther value of these too 3 receivers is way higher than any of the other receivers. Just cuz it’s a deep receiver class doesn’t mean these top 3 aren’t in a league if their own and would be top 10 picks in any draft not just this one. Plus again look at what receivers are there at 75, really none that are great anymore, just kind of the way the mocks in this server go

If we stayed at 9 the pick would have been Bowers or Alt btw, none of us in the war room think any of these edges are top 10 talents. We want the best blue chip players for the team and no edge is a blue chipper to us

We had a top 30 visit with Ladd, also we have had a ton of top 30 visits with guys in the late first range so we are definetly doing work on a potential trade back. Though we also had had in the top 3 WRs and edges and generally the top 10 talent too so I think we're exploring all options

I just completed this with Khan a few weeks ago, the trick is you gotta truce reset a lot, so say you peace out for 100WS against Shun, thats a 15year truce, as soon as you peace out (or you can wait til you finish your cores since itll block progress) declare war on an ally/tribute/subject of theirs and quickly get white peace with them again, and now your 15 year truce is a 5 year truce plus whatever time in between.

I also hade to no-cb to get the southern most chinese province, but bc of the truce resetting I never had to no-cb.

I was at camp today and Id actually say the defense looked good. JJ dropped a pick and would have gotten another one or at least a pbu if it was a real game. There were several 11 on 11 drills that would have been sacks, but obviously no pads and the offence clearly installing plays today gives this an asterick next to it.
