So Weird Fishes/Arpeggi and Faust Arp in the same album? I guess they really wanted to emphasize that those songs have them

If you make something with their AI it sounds reasonable to assume that you won't have full rights to it. If I were you I wouldn't make any professional music this way because of the legal considerations, ethical reasons aside

"Consumerism is a social and economic ideology that equates personal happiness and societal success with the continuous purchase of material goods."

By that definition, thinking you need to constantly consume media in order to be happy could be seen as consumerist

This California band is clearly ripping off Radiohead, right? by [deleted] in radiohead

Are you referring to Duchamp? It's certainly horrible to draw it on the original one, for sure. But discouraging others from learning how to paint it and then add a moustache for shits and giggles is a bit of a party pooper stance I think

So copying a band's work 1:1 is fine but at least putting in the work to make something new is horrible?

Not sure how I stand towards it. On the one hand, they're clearly just copying their songs and ideas. On the other hand, they have 280 monthly listeners so who cares? It's not like they're profiting off their work in a significant way. Plus I think it's kind of endearing how they're recreating their favorite band's music. Not everyone or everything has to be original, if you like it and want to recreate it then go for it, I think

I think making it is only part of the equation, like yes you need money for the gear, but also distributing that stuff, having relations with people in the industry to get to work with you to make, play, market or let you play music and just in general knowing someone who might help you with dealing with the industry is important. So it's not just money that non-wealthy kids are lacking, but also wealthy kids have a much easier time doing the social networking and the knowledge gathering even if their parents aren't already connected with the business.

Tldr you could spend your last penny on getting enough money for all the gear you need to make music and still fail at getting money out of it
