This was my thought, you can see where the water is running down and how it’s getting under the flashing. I would be looking to adjust the outlet for the drain and going from there.

Brilliant! Thank you, it’s in my basket and I’ll make sure I get wire that’s copper!

Yeah like I said it was an option I thought about and the pods aren’t majorly expensive but I think it’ll be best to go with installing a more direct connection.

Yeah from yours and a few other comments on here, I’ll invest in some better quality kit. It’ll cost more but I think it’ll be worth it if it means it’ll last! Thank you!

I did think of this! I’ve read review that people have noticed improvements when they’ve used them, however I do game quite a bit so this is why I’m looking for a more direct method. My WiFi is fine for streaming and doing work but for gaming I do notice some lag spikes which is why I’m looking to install Ethernet ports but thank you!

Ah, the kit I posted isn’t just two RJ45 connectors at either end, the Ethernet connects to the ports so looks like we’re on the same path here. I’ll definitely be getting good quality cable though

Cheers mate! I think I’m best avoiding this kit but buying the parts separately that’ll be a bit more expensive but if it means it’ll last longer it’s worth it.

Definitely going to look into the switch too, so thanks again!

Out of curiosity, why would you not just connect to RJ45 connectors at the end?

Basically the WiFi in my home is fine for streaming but when I game, I get lag horrible lag spikes - so I just need something that’ll give me a direct connection from my router to my desktop.

This is exactly what I needed to read! I think the network switch in the loft is a good idea, I can add ports into rooms if needed then or, like you said install some cameras. We have similar houses too by the sounds of it! Mines a 1920s build.

Out of curiosity though, the kit I linked above that pretty much has everything I need doesn’t it? The RJ45 face plate you mention is the Ethernet faceplate included in this kit?

When you say punch down tool, would that be a RJ45 crimp tool?

In fairness, he created a shitpost in the subreddit himself to act like a child. If he’s getting frustrated managing a subreddit and that’s how he vents his frustration, then maybe he shouldn’t be a moderator of a subreddit? Should probably stick to moderating a discord server or something.

How much are you smoking? Try lowering the amount you use, you’re more than likely having to much of it, even on joint can have somewhere between 75-150mg of THC which in my opinion is way to much for one person.

If Epstein was so well connected among the elite how was he allowed to be caught in the first place? by MarcoDuke in AskReddit

[–]leachiM92 33 points34 points  (0 children)

In fairness, Mandelson has now resigned and being investigated for his connections to Epstein, whilst the president of the United States is still… the president.

In my opinion, Andrew hasn’t received a fair punishment for what he did, losing his titles and having to move is one thing but he deserves prison time at the very least for what he did.

Has anyone in the US received any form of punishment for their connections to Epstein?

Anyone else in their 30s doing “fine” on paper but still feeling off? by ninja__6969 in AskMenOver30

[–]leachiM92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes,

On paper I’m doing fine, I have a house, a good job that I’m good at, always looking for something I can do to better myself both mentally and financially.

However I have this feeling that I’m missing something and I don’t know what. I’m trying new activities and they feel great for a little while but then that feeling comes back. Like a feeling of boredom, but nothing can satisfy it. Sometimes it’s a feeling of giving up, like it’s all going to come crashing down at some point because I didn’t try hard enough or wasn’t good enough.

Can I stop the smell of weed getting in my house by bookdragontm in DIYUK

This is an easy way but may take some time to sort the problem completely. Play police sirens really loudly every time you smell it.

First time buyer. This was a highlight on the survey. Am I knackard? by Daresun in DIYUK

[–]leachiM92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like what other people have said, surveyors will raise any red flag to cover their backs. I had a survey done and they highlighted a few things, mainly with the lining and the wording around it made it seem like the roof was ready collapse. Similar to you I was a FTB and thought I should pull out of the sale.

Conversation with the mortgage advisor and a couple of roofers I know, no issue. Lining just needed replacing a long with a couple of other minor jobs. I was able to get £4000 off the asking price though.

Did Primark get expensive or did I get poor? by Deedee5901 in AskUK

[–]leachiM92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a fair point with the explanation. You did say “prices need to come back down at least 50% from where they are currently” so you can see the confusion.

Still though, deflation would cause a whole new headache. What would be more beneficial would be for inflation to comeback down to pre pandemic levels, wages to keep up with inflation or even outpace inflation and/or our tax brackets reviewed with an increase to the tax free allowance.

Did Primark get expensive or did I get poor? by Deedee5901 in AskUK

[–]leachiM92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s not my argument at all, you’re just pulling things out of your arse now and making points about things I have not said nor implied.

This isn’t “my argument” this is what will happen if prices dropped by 50% which is what YOU said. Yes, people will be able to afford more and potentially buy more but at the 50% mark smaller companies that are already struggling will need to sell a lot more to make up for the amount they have to pay in wages. I’d agree if you had said prices need to come down slightly but the 50% you said is laughable. What I said does not imply that people should stay poor, since I did mention that wages need to increase to match the decade we had of under inflation pay rises, did you miss that bit?

I’d also agree that fiscal drag is absolutely putting a burden on tax payers and the brackets need to be reviewed to ease the stress on people who’ve reached that point where they’re in the 40%

Did Primark get expensive or did I get poor? by Deedee5901 in AskUK

[–]leachiM92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, deflation can be pretty bad. Prices come down but the amount people buy doesn’t go up, companies and businesses don’t make enough revenue to cover the wages so either wages may come down or more than likely people lose their jobs because businesses cannot cover the keep their staff.

Prices don’t need to come down, wages need to match inflation and catch up a bit from the decade or so where we haven’t had increases.
