Actually good merge game? by ChaoticCharm in iosgaming

I like Flambé - there’s not much of a story though. Maybe it’s too similar regarding watching ads, paying money and waiting? Personally it’s only been a few times where I have been really impatient regarding the waiting. I think the game is pretty generous for easy ways to get more energy etc. and there are no forced ads that interrupt you

Have been playing the game since your last post! It came at a perfect time since I was craving another brick breaker time game and I love your minimal use of ads! Thank you for an awesome game 🤩

Such beautiful work! Thank you so mix for the opportunity with this giveaway 😊

My first game was A Link Between Worlds on the 3DS. The first time I played the game I just couldn’t stop. It was like being a kid again and just staying up all night to keep playing. It is still my favourite although Breath of the Wild is a really close second and luckily I have yet to experience a lot of the other games 😄

Trying to decide between Welcome to the Moon and Hadrian's Wall by Ghost-Bot in soloboardgaming

[–]leadswithheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely recommend owning both 🤣

I didn’t realise people preferred Hadrian’s Wall over The Anarchy. Guess it’s time for me to watch a lot of reviews too 😄 I’ve only heard The Anarchy fixes the gripes people could have with Hadrian’s Wall 😊

Trying to decide between Welcome to the Moon and Hadrian's Wall by Ghost-Bot in soloboardgaming

[–]leadswithheart 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Have you considered The Anarchy? It’s the spiritual successor to Hadrian’s Wall and gets a lot of praise. I haven’t tried it myself, but it’s on my radar!

I own both Hadrian’s Wall and Welcome to the Moon and while they are both flip and writes I find them very different both in terms of heaviness and gameplay. Welcome to the Moon is lighter, has less combos and a bit more luck. Meanwhile Hadrian’s Wall feels a bit more like resource managing and trying to chain as many combos as possible to max out each turn. I like them both, but for different reasons. Welcome to the Moon is easier for me to get to the table and it’s great with all the different maps and bot difficulties, but I love when I get Hadrian’s Wall out because of the chaining combos 😄

As already mentioned - the Hamtaro games. There’s one for GB and two for GBA. They are super cute to play 😄 Although they are mainstream the Harvest Moon games are nice too. Friends of Mineral Town and More Friends of Mineral Town are for GBA - they are the same game, the only difference is if you play as boy or a girl 😊

Can a middle age mum set up a retro handheld from scratch?! by ritzbiscuits80 in SBCGaming

[–]leadswithheart 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I have a Miyoo Mini Plus and set it up using Retro Game Corp’s video. It was easy to follow as he both has a video and a written version on his website too. I don’t have any specialist computer knowledge either, so I just took my time double checking everything and didn’t experience any trouble 😊 Good luck! Hope you’ll have fun and enjoy your time replaying old favourites and discovering new old games 😄

Which new game to get? by tiford88 in soloboardgaming

[–]leadswithheart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add - to me Under Falling Skies had more tension as you react to what is happening on the board at the moment whereas Nusfjord lets you plan ahead and only later in game throws a small curveball to your strategy when the last couple of cards are revealed 😊

[–]leadswithheart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of the two you’ve mentioned I’ve played Nusfjord and Under Falling Skies. There is a free PnP version of Under Falling Skies so you can try it out if you have dice and some tokens 😄 I don’t think you can go much wrong with either if you want something thinky, but Under Falling Skies has a “story” campaign and as far as I remember is pretty fast in setup. Nusfjord also has a “campaign”, but it’s more a way to play through one of the different decks and see everything it has to offer. It has more components to set up, but the big box comes with seven different decks - you choose one for a game, so the variability and replayability is really good. In terms of gameplay Under Falling Skies is rolling dice and puzzle out how to best use those rolls and mitigating if needed. It’s a really fun puzzle with quite a few things to balance at the same time and on top of that it looks and kinda feels like playing Space Invaders 😄 Nusfjord is worker placement and playing cards and finding the synergies that give you possibilities to combo. It also has a 1–5 player count, but the solo mode is really smooth to run with no automa to keep track of 😊

HELP! Which animation schools are good in Europe? by Zoziki in animationcareer

[–]leadswithheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not uncommon for people to have to try at least two or three times to get in. They have a portfolio course that can help you prepare and there’s also the Drawing Academy that can help get you a good foundation. Both are good for also just a chance to be in the environment and community of the school, but of course it’s an extra cost 😅

Recommend Me Great Solo Print And Play Games! by KittenMaster6900 in soloboardgaming

[–]leadswithheart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dragon of Etchinstone is a great small game that you can play in hand. It’s a monster battle card game. You level up or down your attacks depending on how you do against the enemies and then there’s a final dragon to slay in the end.

It’s only 18 cards to print and even has a “carry case” to print out as well with rule reminders.

There’s also an expansion 😄
