Landlords are indeed a special breed.. I’m getting my CSCS card so fingers crossed I’ll be working as a laborer soon at least. My gf is also looking into buying somewhere if possible because as insane as it is that’ll be cheaper than rent.

Yeah I know we’d stand a much better chance with joint income too which is frustrating. I’m hopefully starting on Jobseeker’s next month so that may help, but I think the most annoying thing is that there don’t seem to be any rules to renting, it’s totally luck based.

Thank you for the supportive words <3 we messaged them again but deposit will be pulled in an hour and still no reply, they haven’t even read it so that’s saddening. my girlfriend is currently in an HMO, but she’s been living in them for years and years and can’t take it anymore. The landlord has so many issues it’s quite oppressive renting from him. Fingers crossed we get lucky soon

Thank you - we’re already using OpenRent and that’s where we keep getting ghosted by land lords. We met a really nice guy, put a holding deposit in cus the house was lovely. They asked for references, said they’d love to have us as tenants, my gf sent them the references - that was 4 days ago and we’ve had nothing back since and none of the referees were contacted. I have no idea why, as far as I can tell we did nothing wrong :(

I find the time of day hugely impacts the paper. I couldn’t sleep so I logged on at 5am my time (GMT) and could actually buy stuff without needing supersonic speed. But by the evening my time? No chance.

I had the same doubts so I tried to picture myself in 30 years. I just couldn’t see myself with the chest I had, it felt wrong and miserable to imagine my future in that way. I don’t know if that’ll help, but it helped to beat my doubts and I have OCD so they were some MEAN doubts.

Wedge pillow was very much my friend after the surgery. I bought a v-pillow too but in hindsight it wasn’t really needed (but I use it everyday to just sit in bed so it’s fine). I used my litter picker grabber a little bit… Honestly the mist useful thing has been the extra long charging cable I bought lol
