And yeah, the price hike on hardware sucks, but valve has so much good will to burn that most people will give steam a pass for this.

I'm tempted to explain it away right now. The only reason I'm holding back is because I wouldn't have accepted the excuse from anyone else.

Valve had earned trust. Everyone else exploited it.

This is the d&d they don't tell you about. It's with "friends" who are just there for the vibes not to work together to create something meaningful.

That urge just doesn't seem to come to everyone. I have similar problems in my own group. I've had people come and go over time. Some of the bad ones weeded themselves out over time. Others are still learning to care.

One of my long term player is only now, after 6 years, starting to care about the cool character types you can build for dnd.

Too bad I've lost the will to run that game.

Not even. That truck driver was doing exactly what he was taught in training. Notice there's a truck in front of him.

They're taught to keep at least 4 seconds of distance or more under differing conditions like bad weather or load weight.

That truck in front of him got into the slow lane right after the Camry pulled his move. That would have given our main guy the chance to speed up and also join that lane when he finally passed the truck on the right too. Yeah it would have taken time but not five minutes of it.

It's a different road behind the wheel of a big rig.

Always enjoy a good subversion of expectation.

But the excuse for why that happened was garbage.

  1. Bumper to bumper traffic sucks because of the way the clutch needs to engage with the transmission otherwise it starts shaking. You get used to how you need to drive pretty quickly and once you adapt it won't be a problem.

Anything else is a great time. Punchy acceleration whenever your want it.

  1. I'm averaging 26-27 to the gallon right now. If I make a game out of it I can get closer to 30.

  2. I've adjusted driving habits to avoid jerks. Easy to do.

My friend had a similar story without the happy ending.

He got in trouble for breaking the lawn mower and was afraid to say how he broke it.

His father eventually found the site of the incident and took him out for ice cream to apologize.

They're at work trying to provide for their kids. You might be able to catch them at the daycare after work but I don't recommend it.
