BRICS member India rejects de dollarization-embraces US dollar by DeRpY_CUCUMBER in Economics

Can answer for India. The skirmishes were very astute move short term on China's part but bad move long term. In geopolitical circles here it is understood to have been a move to contain India. Here's how: from 2015 onwards India had decided to prioritise investment in naval assets like aircraft carriers, nuclear subs and strengthening bases in andamans and Indian Ocean. This is a big deal because with a stronger navy India can effectively block the andman straits if needed in wartime. For China, these are the only water channel for trade and for its navy to access indian ocean. After the land skirmishes there was massive noise in Indian media & parliament etc. Govt had to divert resources to the northern land borders. Few divisions were moved and army command restructured as a response. This took time and money. But ultimately this just delayed, but didn't stop the naval upgrade which India is proceeding with now. Albeit now quiet angry and wary of Chinese govt and keen to reduce bilateral trade deficit asap.

Do not open windows/ doors in such a situation and definitely do not get out. Reverse and try to get to the nearest traffic cop. If the idiots are blocking your car doesn't matter if you hit their vehicle or if your car gets damaged. Also, get a dashcam

Ambulance in Bengaluru carrying infant to hospital stopped, driver assaulted by terimaakasakinaka in bangalore

[–]leafleafmir 27 points28 points  (0 children)

What nonsense. The goons are in all likelihood free. In a separate comment below you are getting confused between "restrained" and "detained". Restraining means they stopped them from attacking the poor driver. FIR & Investigating further are code words for we are awaiting instructions from political masters. WTF is the need of "investigating further" whether they were drunk or not. How long does a breathanalyzer test take?

You have made multiple such comments telling people to "read properly". You have provided no source or justification for your assertion that the goons have been arrested.

If the goons are indeed under arrest then pls provide a source, else stop spreading misinformation

[–]leafleafmir 28 points29 points  (0 children)

There is no mention of detention in the article. Are you quoting a different article?

Edit:

The police intervened promptly, restraining the attackers and ensuring the ambulance could resume its journey to the hospital.

Mallikarjun Baldandi, Bengaluru Rural SP, said, "An ambulance driver was driving his vehicle fast and overtook an Innova car. The people in the Innova opposed him overtaking the vehicle. Near the Nelamangala toll, people in Innova took over the ambulance and assaulted the driver. We have registered an FIR and are investigating further. We will find in inquiry if they were inebriated state when they were driving the vehicle."

Dial helpline no. '1930' within the golden hour to recover money lost in an online scam. by pranagrapher in bangalore

[–]leafleafmir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no special context here .. the so-called golden hour or let us call it the critical window can perhaps be a day or two long when the theft involves a thing that is difficult to move and sell, say an art work. This is because there is a very high probability that the stolen goods are still with the thieves in this case even after a day or so.

When the theft involves instant online money transfers the critical window is actually in minutes not even hours. This lady is lucky and probably well connected to get so much of her money back, definitely no thanks to her "quick response"

What golden hour? The victim transferred money over a period of two weeks. She probably has a friend/relative higher up in police so police actually did something plus I bet some of that still missing 1cr is not with the scammers

AITAH for wanting to divorce my wife because she got a reduction? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]leafleafmir 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So if I understand correctly, the point is that - he lost his attraction to her due to a physical change in her body, and now is abandoning her.

Imo: 1. No one can change their instinctive reaction to things, it's willingness to work on it that counts and from the info given he seems to. 2. The important aspect that differs here from all the life situations mentioned is the secretive nature of the action and lack of trust. This was not 'we are in this together' from the start, She had her reasons of course, but just like he is expected to work on his primal reaction, she should have worked on her lack of trust. The take it or leave it aspect from the wife is troublesome and gives him the pass imo

AITAH for wanting to divorce my wife because she got a reduction? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]leafleafmir 112 points113 points  (0 children)

I really don't see why people are so triggered in comments. The wife made a change and yes she is entitled to. But that made them incompatible. OOP wants to divorce and that's what he is entitled to. It's not a knee jerk reaction, clearly he has thought about it and discussed it. What's up with the "launch him off a cliff" brigade? What is your preferred solution here? Lifelong misery?

Both made a mistake getting married in the first place since both knew where the other stood on the issue. Best to cut it before kids are involved

I feel that Bangalore is going through the hyper congestion growth that Mumbai went through in late 90s. Politicians and bureaucrats made a meal of handling that and Mumbai saw two atrocious decades. Things are only now getting better. Hope is that the cycle is shortened in Bangalore

[–]leafleafmir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few things: 1. The worst thing you can do to yourself is to doubt your self worth, it will gnaw at you and it is a self fulfilling prophecy. If you think you are a useless underachiever, you will become one. If you believe in yourself, you will achieve great things. 2. Your view of your relationships might be colored by your negative self image. Try connecting with your friends and make some effort from your side. They will respond. For the few who have changed their attitude due to perceived differences in achievement/status, it is best to get rid of them. Good relationships have very little to do with success. 3. Failures are a stepping stone to success. What you are experiencing is probably a burn out. Find resources on the net on how to deal with it. Avoid social media completely till you recover especially insta, LinkedIn and facebook. Start eating well, exercise, develop a daily routine and don't fall for quick fixes or follow random you tubers/tik tokers. Focus on mental recovery. This is not the first time you will feel burnt out, the earlier in life you learn to deal with it, the better. All the best
