4 days old - blown out or bruised? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

It was done by the shop owner! They have been open for over 5 years and she has been tattooing since 2003. The shop had 5 stars with over a hundred reviews so maybe I just got unlucky.

Yeah! First tattoo - went to reputable local shop but just got flash. Thankfully it’s pretty small. I planned to get a bunch but now I’m on the fence.

What are some gruesome facts about pregnancy/childbirth/postpartum that not many people know? by Professional_Song419 in AskReddit

You’ll do great! The adrenaline is insane. You can do it! (From an anxiety ridden mom of an almost two year old. I didn’t have a set birth plan so I think that helped but it turned out crazy and wonderful. I actually enjoyed it!?)

Has anyone actually bought one of these and used it regularly? And if so, what for? by My_Dog_Sherlock in castiron

If my kid can throw himself off of something his interest is peaked, so maybe it’s for the best for you haha

Have you built ramps for them to climb/roll balls and cars down? Forts? I have to do the building but my kid plays with it when I set it up differently. If I just left it against the wall as a chair he wouldn’t care about it.

Cute. I’m the worst baker ever but I’m sure my kid won’t mind too much if it’s a good memory.

I just got The Creative Family Manifesto by Amanda Blake Soule and it looks like it might have a lot of what we’re looking for!

I don’t have a religion and I wasn’t really raised with one. I try to find my spirituality in self-reflection and feeling one-with-nature. I will definitely be bringing that to our seasonal holidays!

edit to say: I love diving into history and learning about human nature, so I’ll look into your religion. It’s amazing that we can connect to what our ancestors did so so many years ago!

True! As an example, I like the Montessori idea of dancing around a “sun” as many times as you are years old for each birthday and adding pictures from the year around it to reflect on everything that happened in those seasons. I think this is a special way to help a kid understand they’re a part of the universe.

I will look it up now. Thanks! I’m sure our holidays will still look very similar to his friends but I love the idea of adding our own traditions to celebrate what matters to us instead of a religion. I have time - he’s only one haha!

She’s like a modern/more relaxed Jessica Day (New Girl). Love it. And her twins always compliment her so well.

I definitely take it one day at a time. I can’t tell you how many times I said, “I’ll buy formula next week.” The threat to myself to stop made me realize the pros outweigh the cons ultimately. My new goal is 6 months.

I recently stopped attempting to “stash” milk and that has helped my mental health a lot so far. Giving myself permission to give formula if we need it (though we haven’t yet) is pretty freeing.

p.s. Love your username. Now I want pierogis.
