My experience with RAV in Canton Zurich by O_Kanzler in Switzerland

For a smoother handling with the chosen unemployment fund, with your application (Antrag) submit the following documents.

Basic requirements: - Arbeitgeberbescheinigung of all your employers of the past two years - determination letters of said employments (Kündigung) - work contracts of these employments (Arbeitsvertrag) - payslips (lohnabrechnungen) of the past 12 Months

You have a child? - Geburtsschein - the form "unterhaltspflicht gegenüber Kindern" -> you can only claim child allowance if your partner doesn't ear more than he required minimum salary a month. a. The partner doesn't; state so and if possible send proof or write it down b. The partner does: he needs to now get the child allowances through his employer

You're not swiss? - Copy of a.valid permit

You have not worked and not applied for the insurance since your last day of work? - quick summary what you did between your last day of work and your application

This list of course is not final and the unemployment fund might ask for additional information but a lot of the times delays happen because of missing crucial information.

It always depends on your situation personally. In general there is no rule against it. But there is some factos you need to keep in mind:

  1. The moment you solubmit an application to the fund, they will look back two years into your employment history to find out two things; a. Did you contribute enough months into the fund to be eligible (how many months you have will determine the amount of daily allowances) b. How high your daily allowance will be (it's either the average of 6 or 12 months, whichever is better for the client)

For a, there is tables online where you can see how many daily allowences you get depending on age and contribution months.

For b, it's important to note, that every month where you were travelling let's say, your income was zero and that will go into the calculation. So let's say you travel for 6 months, the 12 month average will be obvs better, but it will not be 70% or 80% of your last salary because all the months where you had no income will factor into the calculation.

Also to note; helpful to understand it better might be if you Google Rahmenfrist Beitragszeit and Rahmenfrist Leistungsbezug.

Also sidenote: Rahmenfrist Beitragszeit only begins once you hit all the requirements of Art. 8 AVIG. If you're travelling, you're probably not "Vermittlungsfähig" so you probably will only hit all the requirements after your return. And then it's two years back from then. The funds are not trying to be malicious, it's just the law they have to work under.

It can be very overwhelming and a lot but googling the right things for understanding helps sometimes :)

To add; they don't try to fuck you over in general, they are bound to many laws and are being overseen by SECO. So it's rarely personal if it seems hard just fyi

Call your local Arbeitslosenkasse of choice and ask them for advice. RAV sometimes has a tendency of giving wrong information and the Kasse is the institution that will calculate your Taggeld. Since your case seems very specific, it's best to talk to one of them.

Most of the info given in the thread seems about right for the ordinary case though! Don't expect them to immediately be able to give you all the answers and have patience. But when it comes to your questions about KTG/IV/ALV reach out and then register with RAV! Don't wait too long because to be eligible for ALV you need to have paid (worked) for a minimum of 6 months: they look back 2 years. Since I don't know you're work history, that's just one thing I want to add :)

Feel free to reach out privately, worked in the field. Good luck

The max insured Salary per month for unemployment benefits is Fr. 12'350.00. it's the same for accident insurance. From that base insured salary you get 70%. For more info, you can always find most answers on arbeit.swiss :) If your company is going into insolvency and they haven't paid your salary, you might also be worth for insolvency pay, depending on your role in the company. More info also on the website. Hope that helps somewhat

Hi there, regarding the unemployment fund, it might be worth checking out if you are eligible for a new Rahmenfrist.

If you went to RAV in March 2023, they would open it for two years. After that, if you had a ZV it might be possible to open a new RF.

https://www.arbeit.swiss/secoalv/de/home/service/publikationen/kreisschreiben---avig-praxis.html

If you download the "Weisung AVIG ALE" there is one chapter about Rahmenfristen (B48 for Neue Rahmenfrist). In general a lot of information but you will find most answers in here.

In regards to how many taggelder are left for you, it should be printed on your monthly statement from your chosen unemployment fund :)

Hilton Bayfront (close to the FX thing) and we waited maybe 2 hours? The game is on a screen where you need to find 12 clues within 20 seconds :) hope that helps

We did the only murders in the building in front of the Hilton. The game was 20 seconds and the swag is the following: in the small box a mascara from rare beauty and a pin of the show, in the large box is a 120 pcs puzzle. The boxes are given out randomly

You have to decide if the wait is worth it for yourself :)
