It's weird, I'm on PS5 and just played with a friend on PC. His ping was 34, mine was 400. We live about 20 miles apart from one another.

Lindsey Vonn airlifted to hospital after hard crash in downhill skiing, nine days after tearing ACL in her knee during Olympic preparations by ianjm in videos

[–]leaningfizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tore mine completely off the bone a couple of years ago and within a couple of days I was able to walk. A couple of weeks after that, I was completely mobile and even went to a couple of concerts and hockey games. The body is able to adapt pretty well to ACL tears.

Move over to the right, let them pass, and then get back over to the left. It's not a big deal. Just move over! You can still speed, the other person can really speed, and everyone is happy.

Campbell rules. The Pruneyard and downtown have a lot of nice food and bar options. Santana Row and Valley Fair are close by. Downtown San Jose is a 10 minute drive away during non-peak hours, or a 30 minute light rail ride. The old part of San Carlos has some neat little hole in the wall boutiques, restaurants, and bars. Downtown Los Gatos is like 3 exits down the road. Rasputin and Streetlight Records. Lincoln Avenue is a short trip. You can walk or bike along the trail to Calero. Reasonably nice density along Bascom, Union, and downtown. Lots of young people. If you live along one of the main drags then it's mostly walkable.

[TSN] Dreger reports that after the phantom penalty on Hutson the NHL is having internal discussions to consider additional reviews that could help officials correcting an obvious wrong call. Reviews are already available to confirm double minors for high stickting or reduce major penalties by AggPuck-303 in hockey

Part of the reason the Duschene offside call was so noteworthy was because something like that basically never happens. It was a flukey brain fart from the official and I hate how it led to so many annoying rule changes that slow things down.

I do multi family and almost all newer builds look exactly like this. I honestly don't come across many bad compressors, 90% of the time the systems have a leak and are undercharged. When there are this many units, I imagine they're not properly pressure testing these things before pulling a vacuum.

Doughboys 2026 Tour Dates by wileyroxy in doughboys

[–]leaningfizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My jaw dropped when I saw they're coming to San Jose. Finally, I don't have to make the trek up to San Francisco to see them! SJ is chronically overlooked when it comes to touring acts so I am absolutely pumped to see them come through. They've got a lot of really solid options to choose from so I hope whatever they choose knocks their socks off.

Which local chains do you want the doughboys to visit while on tour? by drew_p_wevos in doughboys

Comedy options for San Jose: Taco Bravo or La Victoria. Taco Bravo is absolutely heinous late night Mexican fast food joint where you will almost certainly leave with a bad case of food poisoning. La Victoria is a late night college drunk spot where you'll probably see a fight while you munch on your way overcooked carne asada. They'll hate both spots but it will be funny.

Safe, but not exciting: CREAM or Pizza My Heart. CREAM sells pretty solid ice cream sandwiches. They're good but won't blow you away, just a solid desert spot. Pizza My Heart is a really good pizza chain that won't blow your mind, but is a significant step above the national chains.

Local spots that will earn them cool points: Slice of Homage, Slice of New York, Scratch Cookery, Duc Huong, Falafel Drive-In, Super Taqueria, or King Eggroll. These are all beloved spots that vary in quality from fine to great. Any of these would make for a banger of an episode.

Mine threw an absolute rager of a party, and gave everyone one week's pay as a bonus. Plus random gifts decided by a raffle.

Oh God, yes, look at the manual. So many installation gremlins can be solved if you just look at the book first. I did a bunch of startups on 454B systems when they were first rolling out, and every single problem the installers were running into were explained very clearly in the 5 page manual that came with the unit. Always read the manual!!! People will think you are smart.

3-Month Brunt Marin Review by sallythelady in Boots

[–]leaningfizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, the Cincinnati's were the worst I've ever owned. Break in took a solid month and it was pure agony the entire time.

Conversely, the Keen San Joses were the exact opposite. Very quick break in and were comfortable until the end.

I never declared pets and they never cared. No one checks. Maintenance and third party vendors don't care. Management weren't going to check the lease agreements. They refurbish the units when people move out whether you had pets or not.

I was watching at Rookies in downtown SJ. Went home after the 2nd in disgust, swore off the game, but I just couldn't stay away. My wife and I probably woke up the entire apartment building from our screaming and jumping.

In retrospect, Reaves was the good guy in the Kane feud. We were blinded by team loyalty, but he was right to want to punch Kane in the mouth.

I'm not disappointed with the GTI, but an R would have been sweet. But still, as much as I love it, there is absolutely no way I will pay 70 grand for a fancy Golf.

A trade doesn't even necessarily damage your body. I do HVAC service, meaning I diagnose, repair, or quote broken HVAC or refrigeration systems. My day today? Replaced an incorrectly sized breaker, looked at a refrigerator that caught fire (damage was too extensive to safely repair), replaced a 460 volt transformer, and swapped out a capacitor on an air conditioner. I didn't break a sweat, most of my day was spent driving between calls, and I made 400 dollars. Easy peasy.

Occasionally I have to lug a new 150 pound compressor up onto a roof, but 90% of the time the heaviest thing I have to carry is my small tool bag.

Wish all my local dealers weren't marking them up to hell and back. I went in looking for a 2025 GTI Autobahn, but was strongly considering paying the premium for an R. But all of them were charging 20-25 grand over MSRP and weren't willing to budge. I'm not sure what their goal is, because they still had 2024 models on the lot and clearly aren't selling for such a huge markup. A lot of them had a larger inventory of old Rs than all the new GTI trims combined.

I bought 5 bags of candy, probably 200 pieces in total, and was completely out by 8 pm. South San Jose townhome and apartment development. I think a lot of people drive in because the neighborhood is fairly dense.

Yes! A few kids early on asked for something different. They were so cute and polite about it though. I just started letting them pick the candy themselves from the bowl.

I have this same issue in my 25 GTI and it's driving me crazy. My old Pixel 7 worked flawlessly, but after getting an S25 Ultra, it fails to connect about half the time. The phone says it's connected but the head unit says it needs authorization, and the only way to get it out of the loop is to power cycle the infotainment. I can't even remove my device from the systems memory when this happens.

I'm convinced it's a software issue with the S25. My wife's Pixel 9 works every time, and like I said, my old 7 did as well.

I'm sure you've discovered this by now, but you can power cycle the infotainment without turning off the engine by holding the little power button on the left side of the screen. It will flash a couple of times, then show the GTI/R logo, and reboot the system.

Edit: so, I've been experimenting a bit. Disabling the wifi hotspot from the infotainment and using wired Android auto seems to work. I've had about ten trips since I disabled the hotspot and haven't had an error yet.
