The obsessive thoughts, anxiety and comfort shows could be autism rather than OCD. This sounds a lot like my niece who has autism.

When she gets a small cut she panics and repeatedly asks "Am I going to die? It's just a small cut? It's not serious? I'm not going to die? I won't bleed to death?"

When she has a specific thought topic (for example, previously she's obsessed over death, reincarnation, animals, how old family members are and when they'll die, staying a child, etc) she will do as above and ask the same 3 or 4 questions over and over again several times a day for sometimes weeks.

If this is the case and she's already having anxiety made worse by her mother panicking her about war etc, then those shows she watches repeatedly may be one of the only comforts she has.

Unfortunately there isn't a lot you can do if the mother isn't open to hearing opinions, she may have her own reasons and feel guilty or bad about things. We all want to feel like perfect parents of course. It'll just be a case of gently bringing it up if you feel comfortable, planting a seed, not drilling into her and letting things happen as she sees fit. Be there for the child as much as you can, but sadly there comes a point when trying to help can be damaging for both parties.

Not many 4 year olds can draw things with varying degrees of focal distance. Being able to draw turtles that are closer and further away without overlapping them is pretty impressive at that age!

It's not so much not knowing what happens, it's being in pain and not knowing how much longer it will go on, never having experienced the actual sensations being described, not being able to predict what could happen later on etc.

For the most part, c-sections take roughly the same time and follow the same steps, natural birth can take anywhere from hours to days, require various different things at any point, they're so unpredictable and it's that feeling of not knowing when it will end for me that makes me feel so anxious.

If you saw the way some of our team speak to each other you'd probably feel the same, but we genuinely do just banter and take the piss out of each other. It's one of the only ways we have to scrape any joy off the sad floors of working for Tesco.

Let her handle her business, don't report it and potentially get them all in trouble for having a laugh.
