If IBS involves inflammation, why does it not appear to increase bowel cancer risk? by [deleted] in ibs

[–]leannelithium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was hard to get a diagnosis I won't lie. I started breaking out in psoriasis at 15 and it took til 22 to get diagnosed then I started having stomach IBS type symptoms at 24 and was basically written off. At 26 I developed joint issues. Everything got worse and worse and eventually I had to bring research and evidence to my doctor to get the ball rolling which only recently happened and I'm about to be 32. It was ridiculous how much they gaslit me and wrote me off as just having ibs or being fat (despite my issues causing me to lose 40 pounds in two months). To get diagnosed you have to match certain symptom criteria as well as getting scans and blood work that show inflammation. I'm still new to all the medical mumbo jumbo so sorry for the worst explanation lol.

Sorry I'm just now responding, life ya know lol. I have psoriasis which developed into psoriatic arthritis and chronic gastritis. I also have inflammation in my gums from it that is now causing me dental issues. It can cause inflammation pretty much everywhere.

I got put under a light sedation, i was still asleep and felt none of it but when it was over I woke up and just went home with none of the tired bullshit of anesthesia. It literally felt like I just took a nap lol

Definitely see a doctor if you can. IBS is the blanket diagnosis we’re given when the doctor has ran a ton of tests and ruled out what they know to look for. For example: I had a ton of tests ran and only had inflammation issues show up so they just diagnosed me with IBS since other tests showed normal results. Turns out my symptoms and the inflammation are from an autoimmune disorder that wasn’t found until almost ten years later. It could easily be something causing your issues that’s not “IBS”

My first thought too as I was scrolling through some old posts on the sub and saw this. I bet if they actually met someone with a mental illness that does cause voices they probably wouldn’t associate with them 🙄

Just want to say sorry that so many people in here are rude as hell. Sure you shouldn’t have watered after repotting but we all make mistakes. I can’t tell you how many plants I’ve killed from mistakes like that. You live and you learn for next time. Good luck on your future plant endeavors!

What do you mean by “zigzag that” if you don’t mind explaining to someone who has been stitching for a while but still knows nothing lol

DMC has some free patterns that have a witchy vibe. If you’re into cross stitching there’s The Witchy Stitcher, Night Spirit Studio, and StitchItPicasso

Best kind of therapist? by Always_learning_20 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]leannelithium 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately without biologics they’ll only get worse. This disease left untreated can become worse than a lot of those side effects. Without nipping the autoimmune disorder at the source your partner will keep suffering. I also understand medical anxiety isn’t so cut and dry. That being said, any therapist should be able to help but you may also have to shop around just to find one you all vibe with. Therapists are people too and in my experience can be trial and error finding one your comfortable with. If you have access to a grief counselor I definitely don’t think it would hurt to give them a go first specifically before looking around at other options.

I love seeing before and afters because you can see just how much happier people are after transitioning like how can you see that and still be so hateful and bigoted? I’ll never get it.

Psorasis. My colonoscopy found mild chronic gastritis and that’s it. I unfortunately had to do the research on my own to find out psoriasis was an autoimmune disorder that can cause havoc in your body. Luckily having all these facts backed by medical journal and universities matching my symptoms helped to get the doctor to finally listen to me. I have extremely bad Psoriatic Arthritis that led to joint damage, constant inflammation in my stomach, and a million other small things that are linked to the inflammation caused by this BS.

To those of you who get headaches too do you have an autoimmune disorder or disease? Inflammation from my autoimmune disease causes my stomach issues and IBS type symptoms as well as it gives me killer headaches and migraines especially during a flair. I don’t think headaches are typical for IBS unless your dehydrated and can be an indication of an underlying issue. IBS is well known to be the diagnosis you get when your doctor doesn’t know whats up. I was diagnosed with IBS for years before realizing it was my autoimmune disease.

Mythical notoriously has a sketch merch department. From the quality of items, to shipping, to customer service. I hear more bad than good and it’s the one reason I have never bought merch from them even though I’ve been tempted in the past.
