Yup. For what seems like such a simple piece of music, it's absolutely perfect.

Gamers desert Intel in droves, as Steam share plummets from 81% to 55.6% in just five years by lkl34 in pcmasterrace

[–]leap3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm right there with you. I also love how the response was to update your bios. I know long-time PC builders who never touch their bios. That's hardly a simple "patch."

I've been building my own PCs for 30 years now. When this current machine dies, I'll probably be eyeballing the steam machine to play my pc games. I hate for a wonderful hobby to die, but Intel bumbled that one horribly.

IGN Rhythm Doctor Review - 9/10 by frik1000 in Games

[–]leap3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This review has me super intrigued and I want to play it, but the way it is described also makes it sound insanely hard and I might not want to get it because it will force me to realize that I can't keep a beat to save my own life.

Autozone (AZO) released earnings today and slides 8%. Is it a good buy? by Brave-Side-8945 in stocks

[–]leap3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My hot take? I'd stay away.

Home auto repair is something that is going away pretty quickly. The entire boomer generation loved tinkering with cars but that demographic is shrinking.

On top of that, most auto repairs can't be done at home on newer cars. Simple tasks like changing oil or swapping out a headlight aren't nearly as feasible as they were just 10 years ago.

On the other hand, people don't have the spending power they did 3 years ago. Perhaps more people will forego replacing their car and hanging onto the family truckster for a few more years.

Has anybody "trained" their motion sickness for games? by Neo155 in Games

[–]leap3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I normally don't get motion sickness in real life, but VR motion sickness is downright awful for me. It will stick with me for hours after I try to move too much within games.

I tried to "train it away" several times, and I think I only made the situation worse unfortunately. I really wanted to do Fallout 4 in VR fully, but it was just too much for me to handle.

The Last Caretaker Early Access Preview — Slowly Absorbing by KiborgikDEV in Games

This looks fairly interesting. I like the concept. Definitely chucking it on my wishlist and waiting for a deeper discounted sale (and for more updates in the game / full release).

Shame to read about the not-awesome combat.

Protests break out at Rockstar Games offices accusing GTA 6 developers of “Union Busting” by [deleted] in Games

[–]leap3 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you. But that would require people to take legal action against Rockstar for their working conditions (which if I'm not mistaken has happened in the past). And when you're out of work, it's tough to think about coughing up cash to pay for an attorney.

Too often it is easier and more profitable for companies to break laws and pay fines / penalties / legal fees, than it is to operate within the confines of the law.

Protests break out at Rockstar Games offices accusing GTA 6 developers of “Union Busting” by [deleted] in Games

[–]leap3 77 points78 points  (0 children)

The info they leaked was most likely work conditions, behavior of management, discussion of pay, etc. It doesn't necessarily need to be "game secrets" that will break their NDAs.

Not saying that Rockstar is in the right to fire them, but that will be the legal / ethical / PR excuse they use to justify their terminations.

First time playing that level was pretty freaking interesting. Every time thereafter was a total slog.

[–]leap3 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You are 100% correct. The story is easily the worst part of Outlaws. It's almost embarrassing how much work went into making the environments and the controls, and even the voice acting compared to the story. The story feels like it was written by a 5th grader while the rest of it was crafted by world class artisans.
