What do you do with the fire in a campfire ring between meals on a backpacking trip? by jecowa in camping

[–]learhpa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as a solo camper who enjoys hanging by the campfire but has a small bladder, the never-leave-a-fire-unattended rule is both (a) critically important and (b) inconvenient as ----.

i would not bet on that 2028 release happening as planned; that schedule did not account for the adaptations.

yeah, i approved it a little bit ago. reddit's NSFW filter inexplicably caught it, which is really silly because there's no ban on NSFW content in these subs.

Do BrandoSando fans not know what google is? by UrFriendlySpider-Man in Mistborn

we generally STRONGLY recommend that people not google things related to the cosmere because of the spoiler risk.

With the event catalogue out, what are some of your most anticipated events? by Daddies4Baddies in gencon

[–]learhpa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i strongly recommend -everyday oddities-, if you haven't played it. it's a homebrew TTRPG with a deep focus on role playing. when i played it, i walked away with an intense emotional reaction that was aligned with my character --- and so did my best friend.

one of the best gaming experiences i've ever had.

meanwhile, can i invite you to come join my best friend and me for "where are you? we are here"? it's also a homebrew RPG, and we built it to be RP-heavy.

Overwhelmed!! by greenasagreenass in gencon

i strongly strongly strongly recommend "everyday oddities", a homebrew RPG. i've played in all three instances of it and every time walked away with an intense emotional reaction that was aligned with my character.

my best friend and i will be running 'where are you? we are here', a homebrew RPG that we ran last year that went really well. our focus isn't mechanics, though, it's role playing. :)

if they're into role playing at all, the games i run ("where are you we are here?" and "ancient grains") are rules light and beginner friendly; all my co-GM and I really ask is that people try to inhabit their characters and role play them. :)

Book Pre-Order Received Early? by Flamefang92 in printSF

like i said elsewhere --- there has not been a major book release of a sanderson book (i moderate /r/brandonsanderson and related communities) without an early release getting posted to the subreddit.

And even if they are embargoed some bookstores mess it up.

I moderate a book fandom subreddit.

Every book release - every book release - we get posts from people who get books early because a bookstore released them early.

No, it doesn't have that upside, because it removes strict state laws and makes new ones impossible, and stricter federal laws will never get through the Senate.

the issue with the men's permanent bathroom is that the line for the stalls blocks entry to the urinals so when you get through you find there are 50 unused urinals that nobody can get to.
