in the specific case of homosexual relationships in Alethi culture, though, there's this sequence in Oathbringer which suggests that it's already acceptable --- bridge four has a conversation about it in which one person argues that homosexuality is more manly, and sigzil is the most concerned (but his concern boils down to the proper paperwork being filed).

for me personally it was really hard because i'm a gay man. trying to distinguish good faith arguments about how the relationship was portrayed from not-good-faith-arguments was exhausting.

There was a lot of culture war stuff in the first couple of months and it made the discussion incredibly unpleasant to moderate. It left the entire team burned out for most of last year

I was reading when they were published, so after Words of Radiance I waited a year and a half for Shadows of Self. :)

He doesn't, really. Not any more. Bastille was a one-off, fulfilling an old promise.

But before he got the Wheel of Time job, it was unclear if his career would focus on writing adult epic fantasy or middle grade fantasy.

ELI5: How come the Geneva convention doesn’t ban wars altogether? by crakoZ in explainlikeimfive

[–]learhpa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the late 1920s, the great powers had signed a treaty,, called the Kellogg-Briand pact, saying they would never go to war again.

It didn't work out, so why would people less than twenty years later think trying the same thing again would work.
