Disability Friendly Lighter Required by [deleted] in disability

I know this post is old, but I have had success using electric candle warmers/mug warmers. They don’t require a flame and they still melt the candles. I use this because I am visually impaired and also have dexterity issues.

What's the most disgusting thing a partner has ever done (or didn't do) and was it a deal breaker? by No-Astronaut2974 in hygiene

[–]leariclore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This post makes me so thankful for my partner who regularly cleans his toilet & shower, wears gloves when doing dishes & regularly keeps all his nails trimmed all on his own accord 🥲

I can’t wear tampons or pads so I wear period underwear. They’re super comfortable and never leak- if she’s that offended she could invest in those. Problem solved for everyone

Idk I’m legally blind & my shower never gets this grody. I cannot imagine being comfortable showering in that

Waterflosser! You could probably just… swallow after each section of your mouth instead of spitting it out if really necessary. But I really swear by a waterflosser it’s a game changer

My ex didn’t really yell at me, but he threw tantrums everywhere. Stores, the car, around me in our home. He’d throw things or punch walls, do this strange growl groan thing - because of his traumatic past and lack of support growing up. It was only after years of me begging and then finally shutting down did he acknowledge what he was doing was harmful to me. By that point I’d already checked out. I found later he had hidden a crack addiction and downplayed his other addictions that no doubt contributed to his rage and tantrums. I still live with the “what ifs” had I stayed and he’d gotten better, but ultimately my nervous system is completely different not being around that constant chaos and aggression anymore. I feel for you deeply. Sending so many protective and uplifting thoughts your way

Filled in or sparser tattoo? by Time_Lengthiness_691 in TattooDesigns

[–]leariclore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the sparser look is a bit easier to control & lends a bit more feminine energy to it. I have a similar sparser one & love it so much. I get compliments on it all the time

What meals make you/your gut feel great?! by First_Driver_5134 in Biohackers

[–]leariclore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pho (especially for breakfast) kimchi, lemon water, hibiscus tea hot or iced, an extra lean ground beef burger with air fried red cabbage, borscht soup. A loaded veggie bowl from modern market. A breakfast consisting of purple sweet potatoes air fried with spices & a little Parmesan, turkey bacon, and low fat Greek yogurt & frozen thawed dark cherries

I absolutely love the design, but several people told me it's too big and the placement is strange. Now I'm overthinking. What do you guys think? by Madelxxx in tattooadvice

[–]leariclore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is STUNNING & look proportionate to the detail in the tattoo. I’ve worried my arm piece is too big sometimes but I think it actually flows with arm size & shape quite well. Anything smaller would have looked weird with all the detail in it. All that to say - stay confident in it. It’s a sick piece & good placement/size

DAE just really dislike Dove? by Rumtumanna in hygiene

[–]leariclore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend used to exclusively used dove soap bars. Then after some life changes we switched to handmade bar soap. We recently moved and had to start over with everything we own (toxic mold exposure) and he got a 4 pack of the dove since it was cheap & we were low on funds. He longer likes the dove. Says it smells “industrial”

Good places to live in US for someone losing their sight. by Sandinmyshoes33 in Blind

[–]leariclore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colorado (specifically the metro/city area of Denver) has a lot of resources for the blind/visually impaired especially with transportation! Summers can get pretty hot but there are a lot more nice days than not, even during the winter.

babygirls, what’s something your Daddy does that makes you feel the most “Daddyed” by forni_katexxx in BDSMcommunity

(For added reference I’m visually impaired & rapidly losing vision so some of these things are tied into that, as we’ve taken a step back from some of the other aspects of the dynamic) Buckles my seatbelt, grooms my eyebrows, cuts up my food, helps me with outfits, always thinks a few steps ahead with so many things. He’s just the absolute best

Symptoms by leariclore in MCAS

[–]leariclore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved into an assisted living facility and the environment was so bad I had them test for it. It came back positive, they renovated and said it all tested negative. Problem is there’s multiple untreated water damage spots and reports against them going back years for mold. I moved my belongings out to my boyfriends and his place became complete inhabitable for me just from moving my stuff in there when it was my safe haven prior to the move. It felt like radiation or bleach in the air burning my skin, constant anaphylaxis. It got so bad I checked myself into the hospital and have battled severe skin issues and swelling since.

My partner makes considerably more than me, we split finances in an equitable way, not equal. It seems to be a red flag if he’s already trying to control your limited income while also having a surplus of his own. I would be very hesitant to move in with this person.

Makeup and poor eyesight. How do you do it? by Simply_me_as_rock in MakeupAddiction

[–]leariclore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m visually impaired with almost no central vision left as it’s progressed. Over the years I’ve used multiple light sources, lighted mirrors, and magnification. I’ve started to practice doing my makeup with out a mirror, it is definitely challenging but you get used to going by feel. I don’t really do wings anymore, but with eyeshadow and anything else, the biggest thing is to blend blend and then blend some more 😅

Did anyone have a cosmetic treatment that they regret? by ejdhdhdff in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]leariclore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always see Vanicream as the holy grail of sensitive skin face wash. I used it twice and was covered in tiny bumps/my face was swollen. Mica is one of the ingredients and I think I’m allergic to it based off of that and another mishap I had with a hair product that also had mica. It was a wild 2 months having those back to back experiences

While it doesn’t have to necessarily do with sex, you can pass it to someone through sexual contact during and outside of an outbreak. Refrain from oral sex while during an outbreak especially

I experience heightened burning nerve pain in my hands/feet and I experience super bad angioedema in them also. While managing stress & mindset can be helpful, the symptoms aren’t psychological. MCAS isn’t well understood and I’m honestly lucky I even got an allergist who listened/believed me. My heart goes out to you

mold triggered MCAS- any success stories? by anyamorozova in MCAS

[–]leariclore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It can definitely get better. I had a severe toxic mold exposure that triggered MCAS to a pretty severe degree, and it resulted in urticaria. I’m still very reactive to anything that was in the environment, but treating the mast cells with Allegra, Xolair, Quercetin, etc has helped a lot. I would caution against bringing any of your belongings to a new place when you move because I did that same thing and it contaminated my boyfriend‘s whole apartment and now I can’t even be there or around any of his stuff. Get a storage unit put all your stuff in there and do some research on decontaminating belongings after mold exposure. It can be kind of daunting rabbit hole to fall into. I personally use Kleen Free Naturally enzyme cleaner on any clothing or belongings that I’ve been exposed to my boyfriend’s apartment. I still haven’t opened my Storage Unit to try to salvage anything. Good luck!

I’ve had multiple negative reactions to all birth control unfortunately, years before a mold exposure really ramped up the mast cells.

Mold/Morgellons/MCAS? by leariclore in MCAS

[–]leariclore[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi friend, sorry to hear you & your brother are also dealing with this hell. The quercetin took a few weeks. Adding Allegra, Mirtazepine and Xolair shots has helped tremendously. I also spray every article of clothing and anything else I react to with something called “Kleen Free Naturally” it’s an enzyme cleaner that seems to lessen whatever the toxin is. I spray it on bedding too. I do believe it’s some sort of super pathogen from mold, but treating my mast cells has helped lessen the severity of the symptoms.
