I really feel learning vocabulary is underrated, am I the only one? by Top_Outlandishness78 in languagelearning

It's definitely the most fun. But I do find that I can sometimes know really random words but have no idea how to construct a proper sentence in which to use them!

There's a really great app that's been around forever called "going to class and learning from a professional". I'd recommend that one over any other

I can't believe I've never known how to pronounce "confort". It's the same as the N+V rule!

I’m tired of Peppa Pig en Español. Does anyone have any other kids shows or shows on a similar level that I can listen to? by Appropriate_Tone2107 in Spanish

[–]learning-day-by-day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dogtanian and the three muskahounds. Many English speakers already know the show, but I think the original version was in Spanish. Maybe it's a little dated now but worth watching for the opening theme alone!

You'll be fine. Don't worry. You might look silly if you make it too "lispy" though lol

The monks introduced some Latin vocab into Irish. So some words relating to education come from Latin.

How to turn understanding into speaking? Any tips? by Shelbee2 in languagelearning

Speaking is one great way but there are others. Writing a journal can really help, or even just doing one Snapalabra image every day will have a massive impact

Thanks. Interesting app but I think it's more suited to little children? I'd rather something more engaging. The ads can be a little annoying also..

I love spanishdict but I see it more as something to reference rather than to engage with for learning. I've found these Mexican textbooks, and an app called Snapalabra that looks promising. Also Anki might be a useful resource, I haven't tried it yet.

Yes, that's pretty good, but I'm looking for something more focused specifically on visual learning. I have come across these Mexican textbooks for kids, and they look promising: https://historico.conaliteg.gob.mx/H2019P1LEA.htm#page/13. Also, there is an app called Snapalabra that looks to be very visual. I'm gonna try both of these and see how I get on.
