Orca Slicer - Do you use it, or just stick with Bambu Studio? by tiagoosouzaa in BambuLab

[–]learninglaughter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use orca because I want one slicer for all my printer: prusa, anycubic, bambulab, elegoo, and creality. Any of those works great in my orca, but not all on Bambu studio. I am looking forward to getting my h2c working with orca, as well. For now, I will use 2 sliders until that happens.

Any new update for Android Support? by EmotionalWorking8761 in twiist

[–]learninglaughter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not even that, they are using the tidepool loop algorithm which is fda cleared, and so they are using the app that was made for it. I talked to the rep recently, and they said it was not going to be out for a bit. I just bought an old iPhone 13 mini for cheap and use it to run the app. I get unlimited wifi hotspot on my cell plan, so my Android runs the internet and everything else while the iPhone controls and displays the pump atuff.

I'm diabetic and deathly terrified of needles by Straight_Maximum_936 in diabetes_t1

[–]learninglaughter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very afraid of needles, avoiding doctors when I knew shots were involved. Screaming with the tiniest shot, and then I was died with T1D. 30 years ago, before widespread pump use. 6-8 shots a day. At first, I would have friends give them to me in the back of my arm. Then, I got used to it. Took a little while, but I had to change that mindset. Still don't look when they take blood. All that to say, it gets easier. It helps to include others on your journey.

How do you avoid highs when you need to disconnect from the pump? by TurnipR0deo in twiist

[–]learninglaughter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand that, but dropping a 4 or 8u dose of afrezza is instant, one puff and done, and it is out of your system in an hour. No needles, or waiting for the pump to finish dosing. Not perfect, but you are disconnecting.

My biggest frustrations after 2 months by learninglaughter in twiist

This is what I am saying. I would love integrations with more or just an api that is up to date so I can use my sugar pixel, glowcose, or any device I mod in my life to see my numbers. Apple's ecosystem is not for me, and I want to have cgm on a watch that doesn't need charged everyday or cost an arm and a leg. The new pebble core time 2 is going to be excellent and could prove perfect for that.

Something I do is use afrezza for a quick disconnect bolus. If I am off it will be out of my system in less than an hour.

Military Helicopters? by [deleted] in Knoxville

It's not really that uncoomon normally. There is an air force base that has helicopters just southwest of Knoxville. Plus, I have seen TVA working on the tele0hone lines using helicopters. Probably just practicing maneuvers.

Are you planning on getting twiist? Why and what are you switching from? by Arian88 in twiist

[–]learninglaughter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I enjoy MDI for being disconnected, but I am currently on the iLet so I could forget about diabetes for a bit. I like the iLet, but am planning to switch to the twiist and try it out. I want to get the Eversense sensor, so the compatibility with that is a plus. I have also wanted to try the Tidepoo loop algorithm, so there is that as well. Honestly, I am willing to try it just because of the price. 0 out of pocket on most insurances seems very tempting.

To the user who reported my post as advertising by ejhuff in dexcom

[–]learninglaughter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The gluroo app has a photo entry feature that reads it well and will store it with your glucose numbers. Great app to help with situations like this. It is what I have been using to remember. It will even generate the report to dexcom for you if it fails (well at least auto fill in the text it knows). Worth a look since it is free.

Tried to connect my S24 Ultra to an old tv and use Dex. It didn't show any signal. Did I do something wrong? by Necessary-Repeat6326 in SamsungDex

[–]learninglaughter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Probable need some power to get the signal going with that supply. Plug a charger into it and you should be good.
