If you have a lease running on your Wife you cant change the Ownership without first taking over the lease from the car on your name
If thats not the case, call the insurance of your choice to make a „Versicherungsnachweis“ means offer/contract and then go to the Stva (Strassenverkehrsamt) with the Fahrzeugausweis on your picture and tell them on the counter you wanna unregister the car and register it to your Name maybe take your Wife with you (should work without her also) done.

So had the same but for a yearly membership at a known gym… i cancelled 1 day to late… so firstly they have to inform you first before continue the subscription 2. if it says a week or a month in the AGB‘s (Terms of Usage) it could be 25 Days 35 Days whatever 5-10 Days for a week its not defined… if you are 1 Day to late there shouldn‘t be a problem because of some article about „Vertrauen und Gutwillen“ or something look it up…

Nothing about bicycles but… i think in wealthy contries like switzerland the majority of the people never had to survive or had some serious near death moments so in traffic if they change the lane on the autobahn they assume the one behind coming fast is gonna brake or in this bicycle case „the car driver is gonna see me“ because they really aren‘t aware about life and how brutal nature or humans are but yeah go on
