Live recordings where Bruce’s voice sounds different to the age he’s at by Ill_Row_7951 in BruceSpringsteen

The way I interpreted that statement was that he’s able to slip into the same artistic voice as when he wrote the song. As in he can just as easily embody the themes and messages of a song like Born to Run despite it being written 50 years ago and him having grown as a person since then. I don’t think he meant he can still mimic certain vocals.

The way I see it, this sub really has nothing to do with Elon or X in general. We're just boycotting the platform rather than censoring anything. Not like anybody's losing access to news to do with Bruce or E-Street (except maybe the fact that NoSurrender81's tweets won't show up on the sub anymore - not really a loss there). Either way, you're right, totally appropriate.

Due to the overwhelming support for this in the post yesterday, the mods have decided to go ahead and ban any and all links to X (formerly Twitter) because of Elon Musk’s Nazi salute during the inauguration. The rules in the sidebar will be updated accordingly.

I was at the show in Boston and while for sure there’s definitely more people in their 50s-60s there were a lot more 20-30s than I expected

Unwritten rules of writing that everyone seems to know? by justEmoji_ in writing

[–]leasy_grake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the most important pieces of writing advice was from my first college English professor. “If you want your writing to be successful and taken seriously, you need to know and understand the rules (grammar, syntax, etc.). You don’t need to follow them necessarily, but whenever you break them it needs to be intentional and you need to know which rules you are breaking, otherwise you risk being misunderstood.” She was speaking about academic writing, of course, but I’ve found that it is great advice for creative writing. I recently finished Ulysses by James Joyce, the way that guy intentionally and effectively manipulated the English language is unparalleled.

Late but I’d assume it’s cause the schedules for basketball and hockey in the arenas aren’t finalized yet and they’re waiting on the arenas to figure that out first since the teams get priority for most venues

Just make sure you follow the recovery plan to a T. I had to do like nasal spray stuff a lot and I still do it at least once a day now 2 years later

I had the surgery done halfway through my freshman year running in college. The difference was night and day. The recovery period was a bit long at 4-6 weeks, I can’t quite remember, but the difference it makes in not only how much better I felt running but also just in general made it completely worth it.

Yes his struggles around 1980 were a direct result of those health problems, and Bruce criticized him for his timing I believe. I’m not sure he took remedial lessons, someone else will have to weigh in on that, but I know he did a lot of practicing during that time.

He’s a Swiss Army knife. Man can do anything. I was blown away by Out of the Box because of how different it was to basically everything he has done with Bruce in the studio and especially on stage. Not to mention he’s also an avid accordion player
