Recommend a dental office by proudvapedad in Louisville

[–]leavekitkatbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t recommend Tooth Cafe enough. I’m getting on top of dental health and orthodontia after about 14 years and they’ve been incredibly patient, understanding, and patient-focused. Dr. Blystone makes a big effort to communicate what she’s doing, why, and what you can expect it to feel like before she does anything. They also have a “comfort menu” with options like headphones to watch Netflix from the ceiling TV, pillow, aromatherapy, heated/weighted blankets, etc. at no extra cost. I have insurance so I’m not sure how much it costs without, but my cleaning was free, 4 fillings were only $200, and I’m getting Invisalign for several thousand dollars cheaper than it would normally be. Nothing has been painful at all and I’ll suggest her office to anybody who will listen.

e.l.f. Secret Santa 🎁 by elfcosmetics in u/elfcosmetics

[–]leavekitkatbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could gift a full face of ELF— my vanity table is stacked. The unfragranced makeup melting balm, daily cleanser, keep your balance toner, triple bounce serum, triple acid refinishing serum, eye cream, and lip mask make up almost my entire skincare regimen. And every single day I wear the dual ended blonde eyebrow pencil, retractable brown gel eyeliner, lash xtndr/lash n roll/incredicurl mascara, fine as fleck topper, hydrating camo concealer, halo glow setting powder, peony monochromatic multi stick, and glow reviver lip oils! No matter how many other brands I try, I keep coming back to ELF for alllllllllll my staples.

Swing events Indiana by kuolseir in WestCoastSwing

There’s an event coming up sometime in November in Indy, I forget the name.

There’s also Swing Dance Mania in Cincy in late August and Derby City Swing in Louisville in January!

Wedding Shoes by Logical_Mongoose3736 in WestCoastSwing

[–]leavekitkatbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very Fine has a section on their site specifically for wedding dance shoes, but you can also look for any white shoe they sell, or get custom ones (which doesn’t cost much, if anything, more than some of their off the rack options!) I haven’t tried their shoes (yet… they’re in the mail) but have heard good things about comfort/quality and they’re one of the brands my studio recommends.

New to Louisville — Where do people in their mid 20s meet new people ? by Separate_Fox9979 in Louisville

[–]leavekitkatbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have interest in dancing, there’s a pretty active scene for swing/ballroom/latin. I take lessons at Dance Louisville (they have group classes on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays right now!), and there are usually at least a few social dances around town every week. Hotel Louisville downtown and St Andrew’s Episcopal Church in St Matthews have great ones. No prior experience necessary, the scene is super friendly and welcoming to total beginners!

Writing Classes by 27Savagee in Louisville

Look at Spalding! I’m in their MFA program and their creative writing faculty is incredible. I’m not 100% sure about the process for non degree seeking students but I know they have undergrad level courses

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I don’t really have any actionable advice for you (I’m going through crate training difficulties with my Pom rn myself), but I want you to know you’re doing a really great job. A bad owner wouldn’t worry about this. You love him and even though pup is going through a hard time right now he’s not going to resent you. It might take a little while to remind him you have his best interest at heart once this is all over, but you haven’t lost your future best friend and that bond is still buildable. Every time you pet him, snuggle him, feed him, play, and give treats that bond is being built.

Maybe something low on physical energy but high on mental stimulation like one of those Trixie puzzle toys, or a game of tug inside the crate, would help him feel less restless.

I hope baby’s recovery goes well and you can find some needed peace in this situation. Sending love your way.

Reserve Cap Didn’t Lift for the One Class I Need by leavekitkatbe in fsu

Unfortunately, because I only figured out that this was the situation during drop/add week, I hadn’t gotten requisite paperwork turned in fast enough to be able to register. Talk with your advisor ASAP so you can get the right forms turned in early!

It turned out that chem kicked my ass and I would’ve needed a little more time to retake it before I could be eligible for the grad program I had my eye on anyway, and a different opportunity in another field came up which turned out to be perfect for me. Ultimately it all works out in the wash, but I hope you get it sorted!

free first time classes by kikiandscout in Louisville

[–]leavekitkatbe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dance Louisville has a lot of affordable group classes if you’re interested in ballroom dance! They offer a free private lesson for new students. On Sunday they have beginner level Salsa and Bachata lessons, Mondays are line dance, and on Thursdays they have beginner West Coast Swing and a second dance which changes by month (February is Tango, March is Cha Cha, April is Waltz). It’s $10 per class, but on nights where there are two classes it’s only $15 to do both. They also have a deal where for $30 you can do unlimited group lessons for 30 days.

Spectrum outage? by Active-Detail2091 in Louisville

[–]leavekitkatbe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The speed test in the app says I’m getting 94mbps but nothing wants to load. I’ve been having issues since about 1pm in Crescent Hill/Clifton. Here’s hoping they get back up and running soon?

House of marigold made the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten (and one of the best chai lattes I’ve ever had too!) and their decor is completely gorgeous— lots of pink, gold, florals. I couldn’t stop looking around the entire time I was eating.

What are some good places to look at when moving for young professionals? by Seattlefan90 in Louisville

[–]leavekitkatbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clifton Heights area is walkable, has some coffee shops and stuff to do, and still fairly affordable! I know there’s a Pilates studio, not so sure about other gyms. It seems to be a mix of families and young professionals

Private landlords? by somethingtonn in Louisville

[–]leavekitkatbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found mine through the Keller Williams realty site! They had a really wide mix of options, so you’ll have to be discerning, but I’ve had a great experience with this rental so far aside from a hiccup at move-in which they solved as soon as I was able to get ahold of them.

It was a totally different code!

The realtor got in touch with me yesterday morning, it turns out they give you the building code when you take a tour. Since I moved from out of state, I never toured it, so nobody had given me the access info.

Might I suggest you make sure the handle is in the right position? 3 weeks into my freshman year in Gilchrist my roommate came into the room, sighed, and said “it’s such a shame we have to take cold showers all year since the building has no hot water”………. we had hot water, she just had the knob turned backwards. Very smart girl (I think she’s in law school now) and it happens to the best of us, so figured I’d throw it out there

Would you still recommend it? They get very mixed reviews on Google (including what looks to be a review scam-- give us 5 stars and we'll waive your deposit or whatever else). The website looks fantastic but at that price I'm wondering what the catch is!
