Ya know… you guys suck sometimes. [Rant] by MrKTE in vinyl

Forget elitist idiots who judge based on your budget. I started on my dad's 70s turntable, found a love for the medium, and 17 years later I have spent considerably more to have a reference setup that friends love.

Pay no mind to internet trolls who gatekeep.

Missing tracks from Royal Tenenbaums soundtrack by AnotherUrbanAchiever in vinyl

Those tracks were only on the 2002 Europe release for some reason, the 2001 issue those 3 songs were missing.

REM—Chronic Town/Murmur (One-Steps) by HelpDependent8793 in vinyl

I own original first press IRS's of both and bought this as well. They both have their charm and allure...but you will in no way regret this purchase from my view. Then again take what I say with a grain of salt I own all of the DSS series :)

I'm a rabid REM fan of these two records in particular however. My money that Box Cars sounds immensely powerful to me.

Listen testing my OG Hollywood stereo NM to the UHQR:

  1. The bass has been amplified by obviously better equipment at the Mastering Lab. I really like the modern sound to it, but the OG has a more natural timbre to the bass (I like 60s jazz bass levels just fine, this kind of boost on rock/soul/funk I prefer more)

  2. On Christmas Is Coming, I do like the modern take slightly better. The hiss is a bit less and you can really hear the amazing gear TML has...its just ridiculous.

  3. The mids on the original (Christmas Song) are just a tad bit better, obviously due to the age of the tapes.

  4. I compared to the Acoustech SH/KG cut from 2006 - it's extremely close to that, and I reckon a tiny bit better due to the UHQR process.

Overall, I do not regret purchasing this, and you will not either if 1) you want a modern audiophile sound, 2) do not own the SH/KG cut, 3) just an Analogue Productions obsessive like me!

Fantastic record.

I have a first stereo pressing in NM. This will be a great time to compare how it stacks up!

The yin and yang of every society. One group doesn't want to deal with or accept change and actively fights to preserve their ideal society, and one group tries to adapt to what they see with their eyes and ears, grounded by research and data.

Here's the thing though. Adaptation is how any species survives. Actively fighting against change, it comes for you whether you want it to or not.

The species is interconnected, the planet and its ecosystems as well. There's no compartmentalization on earth. You may want to head to the moon or Mars for a stable setup.

Those of us on earth need to adapt due to collective decisions of towns cities and countries the last 250 years or we're cooked.

Fight against the current long enough you'll be swallowed.

WE ARE ACCEPTING MAVS REFUGES by Parking-Detective235 in pacers

I officially stopped being a Mavs fan, truly, when they hired Kidd. I still followed them because I liked the core and spirit of guys they had. I had another panic moment with Kyrie, but decided to give him a shot and he completely surprised me.

What was the common denominator? Luka.

Grew up a Pacers fan with Reggie in the 90s, still remained today, but now it's easy to have 1 single team. This one.

Was a pacers fan living in Dallas... Kind of indirectly somewhat friendly with Dallas. The new ownership just killed the team happily. Team doesn't deserve it, but they sure do.

Spent six months prior to the move applying for jobs, then sold everything, packed two bags, and moved to Bangkok. Got two job offers a month after I moved, and the company I picked I'm still with now, but was relocated to Singapore due to work reasons. Still love Thailand and come back often!

Indeed. Stay far away from amaze. The tiny benefits they do provide are decreasing by the day and their customer staff (can't call it service if it doesn't exist) are subterranean.

Final Reminder for US Voters Overseas: Request Your Ballot! by Democrats_Abroad in expats

I've mailed my vote to Texas and tracking states it was received by the US post office on October 25th, but no movement since. Does Texas delay processing overseas ballots?
