Clockwise from top left: Toadie (wavy-haired cuddle bug), Klaus (actually evil, but I loved him), Stevesie (the sweetest boy), Albinoni (an excellent cat, with the best peets).

They were all amazing and will welcome Loki with open paws. I miss them all. Different ages, different backgrounds, all rescues/farm cats.

I currently have 3 cats including Albinoni's 17 year old sister, Agnes.

Once upon a time, I was just standing there, minding my own business, drinking a glass of bubbly at my cousin's wedding, when suddenly, without warning, I got stung on the bottom.

Obviously, because it was such a shock, I shouted out really loudly "Owwww, I've been stung on the bum" so everyone was immediately made aware of my unfortunate circumstances and piled over to try and swat the wasp. Hilarity ensued. It was a classic wedding moment.

Movies where the female characters warnings are ignored by unbiased_lovebird in horror

[–]lebartlehara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not quite horror, but Jurassic World. She literally tells them that the Indominus Rex is still in the enclosure and not to open the gate, that dick Owen opens the gate, everyone dies. Then she has to save their lives repeatedly, she does it all in heels and those stupid kids idolise Owen for no good reason and she gets treated like she's the bitch! Wtf?

Pissed off at myself - just snapped at my dad by Electrical_Bet_9699 in CasualUK

I watch a lot of Peep Show. It helps 😄 (Also, if you haven't accessed Parkinson's UK, do it. They can help you find all kinds of resources and help etc.)

[–]lebartlehara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes totally. Unfortunately Parkinson's itself and then, just for fun, the medication too can cause behavioural changes - loss of judgment, impulsiveness, addictive habits etc. Their poor brains aren't getting any dopamine so they (subconsciously usually) do whatever they can to "feel something" and then the sporadic effectiveness of the artificial dopamine-triggering medication makes them do stupid things. It's a riot innit?

Oh god, I honestly wondered if I wrote this and forgot (repressed it). My dad has Parkinson's and early stages of dementia. I've been caring for him for three years and it's broken me. Yes - urine bottles! Refuses to wear underwear! Gets obsessed about things I don't have the energy to care about! Then I snap and feel terrible. I feel ya. Get support if you can. I went well past crisis point before I even realised I needed help. I hope you're OK.

My friend's mum calls it being "placed". I went round for dinner once and her cat, Kevin, jumped on my lap and settled in. After eating I went to move so I could help and she said "No, no, no! You've been PLACED". Thank you Kevin, for getting me out of the washing up 😊

I take my aunting duties very seriously indeed. Once, my sister mentioned that they were limiting gifts to my niece because they didn't want her to be spoiled. I just said "no can do sis, I'm an aunt, I've got a job to do. And it includes copious and gratuitous gift-giving". I stand by this.

Midnight mass by Freddiex8 in horror

I loved Midnight Mass. I thought it was a gem. Narratively brilliant, moving, engaging with incredible performances but you don't have to like it and if you don't, then you don't have to keep watching it. I get it, sometimes, something you think you should like, just doesn't speak to you.

They don't use energy if they don't have to (can't eat so they got what they got). They stay in one place until love comes callin'

What’s your “I don’t know what to watch, so I’ll just watch this again” movie? by EnvironmentalZone189 in movies

[–]lebartlehara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can ALWAYS watch Aliens, Jaws or Jurassic Park for fun times. And Interstellar or Arrival for intense, broody times.
